Probably one of the best hostels I've been to. Spotless and full of character. I had a great single room with shared bath. I can speak for the dorms. Great lounge ares and kitchen. Friendly atmosphere to get to know new people. Would 100% recommend staying here in Lisbon.
Wine hostel is in a lovely old building. Directions on hostel world need updating - impossible to find with those. Staff are great, friendly and helpful. Breakfast good. Lounge area really lovely and a great atmosphere during the day and evening. I'd give the place 5* was it not for the terrible smell in my room. I think this was from damp as the bathroom had no ventilation or was dirty and mouldy. Shame in such a great place but this needs sorting out.

Centrally located - super clean, lovely hostel. Sign outside door a little hard to spot so look for the numbered doors. Staff full of useful advice and very friendly. I was in a single room with shared bath. My only gripe is the bed was terribly hard and blankets thin in winter as the room had no heating. I wore my fleece in bed. But for the price I would not score it down. It's a great place to stay in Lisbon! Would stay again.
Christina was nice and welcoming. I was very late arriving and she said it was lucky she was still there. Nice, quaint, traditional, Clean Bnb. I just stayed for the night, getting up very early to catch a flight the next day so needed a good nights sleep - unfortunately the bed was a bit like a camp bed with an very thin mattress. I told Christina I'd be leaving before breakfast. About an hour ..she did not offer to bring it early or give me any discount. I was a bit disappointed with that.
I loved this guesthouse. Friendly staff, great breakfast brought to your room, beautiful gardens and views into the town from my window. My room (was supposed to be a single - but was given large double) was lovely. With its own lounge and kitchen area. The bathroom was tiny tho! You had to sit sideways on the loo! Great price too - got so much more for your money than Florence. And for me Siena is nicer, prettier, more interesting and relaxing. A gem of Tuscany. Will definitely be back! Thank
Huge hostel, used regularly for families and school groups. Room was freezing, I switched the radiator on but it went off in the night. Clean sheets and pillow case - but no duvet cover and mine looked dirty. There was a really really bad smell in the bathroom - I think something to do with the drains. I told reception though, and the guy - who was very nice seemed genuinely surprised and thanked me for letting him know. Walls need reprinting as are dirty. Nice lounge area with big warm fire.
Met at the hostel by the lovely owner who was terribly friendly. Rooms lovely and clean. And the hostel very warm! Huge kitchen and lounge area which I guess is used when they have school groups etc. it felt like an old fashioned place - somewhere good to get your head down after a day of walking on the coast. Very close to the Giants Causeway. Great value for money. She even lent me a towel as I'd forgotten mine.
Exceptionally clean, comfy hostel. Good value for the centre of Colombo. Good for a place to kick off your trip. Stay sullied by a woman obsessed by rustling plastic bags all night. WTF. But the hostel gets full marks all the same. Good location, close to barefoot cafe so give that a go for a relaxing drink and little shop. Will stay again on my exit for Sri Lanka in a few weeks time.
Great hostel - conveniently located. Spotlessly clean with comfy beds and lockers in the room. Was quite quiet but I bet there is a good buzz when the place is busy. Would stay here again without question.
This place is great. Good bar, clean new rooms, comfy beds, good secure lockers, friendly 24 hour reception, nice place to meet people. HOWEVER - I have one reservation which means unfortunately I won't stay here again. The hostel is not is a great part of town and I did not feel comfortable walking back here at night. Some if the streets close by feel unsafe (especially in the dark). As a group I would be fine with this but as a lone women traveller I would prefer a place closer to town.
Great hostel, very close to castle. Spotlessly clean with friendly staff. Stayed in deluxe dorm with bathroom. Excellent value for money. Was quite while I was there but am sure this place had atmos when a little busier. But fully recommend - brilliant place. Ill be back!
Great location and good value for city centre. Had a brill time here. It's not a swanky flashpkacker hostel but it does the trick for a weekend in the city. Close to the pubs in Temple Bar but not too close that you can't get a good nights sleep. Right next to Trinity Collegue. Bathroom on each room which is good could have done with a lick of paint. Lockers are bad n make loads of noise when you drag them from under the beds and wi-fi only worked in the lobby.
Places in Kuta are a little more expensive than the rest of Bali and provide less. Poppies is close to the bars and the beach. It's clean and a comfy place to stay after a night at the clubs. It's not bad but I probably would not stay again.
Lovely hostel in safe area. Clean, comfy and excellent tasty free cake. Staff very helpful .. Place is often full as a result of good reviews so try to book in advance, especially if arriving at the weekend. There was a common area - I'm travelling alone - so would have been nice to meet people but no-one ever hung out there. So was a little lacking in atmos. But other than that - a great stay and would recommend. Not much to do in Melaka. So would only stay 2 nights max.
Probably the best rating ive ever given a hostel. I booked for 3 but seated for 9 nifhts. Good value for Sydney. Lovely staff, so so clean. Great roof top terrace with theme nights where you can easily meet people. It's a massive hostel so it could have felt unfriendly but didn't. Only bad point - wi-fi is not free. I know this is an ozzy thing but its about time they came into this century!!!
Great hostel. Close to the main part of town and feels safe. Lovely, gardens and excellent pool. I stayed on here a couple of extra days to relax on a hammock in the garden it was so nice. Chilled and welcoming atmosphere. Great cooking lessons, salsa and yoga to get involved in. Everyone is made to feel at home here. I stayed in a MASSIVE girls dorm ..which got a little too hot at night - although a fan was provided for every bed. Fully recommend staying here.
Lovely welcoming place with charming rooms. Helpful and friendly staff. I'm not a big fan of dogs normally but the ones here are lovely and friendly to the customers. Trip to the canyon was great and good value. Nice to sit by the fire in the evenings. A bit of a walk from the main part of town but that's not a problem.
A brilliant hostel right by the zocalo. Great breakfast on roof terrace overlooking the church. Fun place with free walking tours in the afternoon are a great way to get to know the city and drinks on the roof top with other guests in the evening are cool. Nice and quiet though when you want to get some shut eye. Clean rooms with good lockers. Fully recommended.
Lovely old building. Security a little lacking. Did not feel like my bags were safe in their outside luggage room. Bit of a debacle with lockers. Room really noisy but that was down to the other people in it having no respect for other guests. Close to tube and easy to get into the west end. But have stayed in better places in London.
Excellent hostel in great place for natural history and v
Excellent hostel. Friendly, helpfull staff and walking distance of all the sights in town. Great location near to bars and restaurants yet still nice and quiet when you want to get your head down to sleep. Big rooms, comfy nights sleep. Fully recommended. And try Gellert spa - that is awsome.
Excellent hostel, great value for money on London. Extremely clean and quiet at night so you can get a good nights sleep. Close to museums and easy access to the tube to get into the west end. Fully recommended.
Clean, ok place to stay short walk from nice places to eat on the waterfront. Not much atmos in the hostel.
Excellent place. Clean, very helpful staff, lovely pool to relax and cool down in after a hard days walking around the temples. A bit out of town down a quiet street - but this is not a problem as they offer you a free tuk tuk into town - and its easy to get one back to the hotel for just $2. RECOMMENDED
Nice enough hotel, just at the end of the main street near the central market. Clean, OK breakfast, helpful friendly staff who can arrange a nice tuk tuk driver to the killing caves and mountain temples. Recommend lunch / dinner at the Gecko Cafe ...great red curry on offer. Not good for meeting other travellers ..lacks atmosphere. Not much to do in Battambang.
Excellent 3 night stay. The owners are brilliant, very friendly and sociable. The resort and surrounding countryside are beautiful and are a great place to spend relaxIng. The traditional Khmer food is excellent and I would not hesitate to stay here again. RECOMMENDED.
Stayed in a double room. Very clean, good air-con. Nice quite place ...away from the centre of town down a quiet street. Only a short walk to some of the main restaurants. Easy to get a tuk tuk from outside to the major sights. Very helpful staff ..for a small charge went and got my visa for Vietnam so I did not have to waste a day at the embassy. All round good joint (not a party place)
Came back to lub-d following a visit in 2009. Still a great place. Exceptionally clean, good air-con, good location on quiet street, nice place for beers at the front.
Great hostel. Excellent price for London. Nice and clean and in good place for Kensington shopping and palace. Would stay again ( if they don't stick to their age rule as I'm about to turn 36) that seems a bit daft!!
Great little hostel with loads of character. Lovely free breakfast, clean showers and friendly staff. Beds are a little small but it's a boat so it's to be expected. It all adds to the charm. Would stay here again.
This hostel is excellent. A short walk (10 mins) from town and the main square. Its exceptionally clean and tidy. Rooms are comfortable and a good price. Its small and quiet with a friendly / homely atmosphere. There are good kitchen facilities if you want to do some of your own cooking. The owner at Cabanita's house is brilliant - speaks great English and is really helpful with any tours or information you need. RECOMMENDED.
Good place to stay for one night before heading up to Machu P. Clean and secure. Breakfast nice and early in order to get the first bus up to the site. No complaints.
Massive hostel. Clean, good value dorms. Can be a little noisey in the evenings. Becuase of its size it is a little unfriendly and I would suggest better for groups than people on their own. Great position right in the centre of town. Lovely lady who was very helpful suggesting the best and cheapest way to get to Machu Picchu.
Great little hostel - feels like you are in someones home. The owner was very helpful with our trip to the Nazca lines. Great breakfast, clean rooms and good hot showers.is a little hard to find though becuase the sign on the door is very small. People across the street told us it had closed down. Don´t belive anyone who tells you that. Highly recommended.
Ok hostel for a short stay in Lima. Helpful English speaking staff. Lockers are in a common area which is not ideal. Every time I had a shower it was cold although they did keep telling me the hot water worked. Also for a big shared dorm of 9 people there was just one shower which is not great-expect queues in a morning.
Excellent hostel. Stayed both on the 1st and 6th floor. Great BBQ on Thursdays where you can meet fellow trevellers. Clean, tidy, comfortable - lovely lounge area and roof top terrace for reading, relaxing and having a drink in the evening. Great group of people there when I stayed - more mature feel to hostel with a great atmosphere. Staff really nice and extreemly helpful with tours, getting around town and advice. Great location. Would recommend this hostel and go again next time I'm in BA.
Great position for going to the falls - being so big, its hard for loan travellers to meet other people. Most were in groups or couples. Staff helpful and can arrange bus transfer to both side of the falls. Pool great but could do with a good clean ...bits of hair and dirt floating around in it !! Our dorm was in the basemement - the bathroom was a little grubby with no ventilation so there was mould on walls. The rooms itself was clean and the air-con was well received in the hot weather.
If you like noise ...you will love this hostel. Its down the main street where all the bars and nightclubs are so you can party all night. However - if you fancy getting some sleep that might be a problem. Not in a bad place to access the main sites in town. Hostel owners friendly and place fairly clean but a little rough around the edges. I think you can find better places but its not too bad.
Hostel in good place to walk from bus station. Quite clean - a little rough around the edges. Nice common areas and garden to sit & chill out in when the sun is shining. A little noisy. Some good reommendations from the staff as to where to go around Mendoza.
Ok hostel ..in central Bariloche. Nice breakfast / eating area which means you get to speak to fellow travellers. Hostel was not very clean when I stayed - there is only one bathroom / shower room which when the hostel was full it was pretty difficult to find a time when it was free. Staff really helpful with ideas of what to do - although its a good idea to get down to the tiurist information office and the park office as they can advise on where to go to do all the decent trekking.
Good hostel very close to the bus station - easy to walk to. Extreemly clean, great new bathrooms and big comfy rooms. Nice comfortable lounge room for reading a book or going on the internet on a rest day. Staff are good with information - the hostel just lacks a little atmospehere..probably down to the lack of bar! Good place to stay for a couple of days to see the Whales though. ;-)
Nice place to stay if you are going to do some walking in El Chalten. Clean rooms with comfortable beds. Nice common area and excellent steaks on the menu! Excellent location just close to where the trekks start, with a great little sandwich shop close by to buy provisions for lunch. Nice atmosphere at the hostel in the evenings ...not a party hostel but that's to be expected since this place is there for the outdoors and walking. Had a great time in El Chalten.
Great place - just at the top of town - 5 mins walk from the main street. 15 mins walk from the bus station. Clean, comfortable rooms. Excellent BBQ in the evenings which is a great way to meet fellow travellers. Staff brilliant and really helpful with tours to the glacier!
Hostel in the lovely part of the old town. There was a mix up with my hostel world booking as they say they have changed their name to Old Street Hostel. Room was OK but needed to be cleanded. The bathroom was covered in mould - but overall not too bad. Staff were helpful in booking a bus.
Staff very helpful. Rooms did not have electirc points by the beds. There was only one in the room which is not enough. They were not doing food / breakfast when I stayed so had to go to the starbucks across the street.
A large, almost sprawling hostel...great if you want to find a quiet spot to read. The main room has a big TV playing movies all day. This means everyone in the room is transfixed on the screen rather than chatting with other travellers. The TV needs to go for this to live up to its cosy, friendly claim. Other than that ...great hostel, excellent staff, great trips to see the Pandas. Sim was very helpful on getting busses into town since the hostel is not in the main hub of town.
