This hostel is located in a residential building on 3rd floor. What I really liked, was that you had to take off your shoes in the hall, which makes the dorms and bathrooms much more clean. The rooms are nicely furnished and bright and the bathrooms where newly renovated. Just a few meters away from the entrance is a Tram-stop, from where you can reach Central in about 10min. Beside that it is only a 5min walk to Star Ferry pier 'Wan Chai'. I really liked staying in this hostel!
I can only recommend this hostel! Chris is super helpful, also when you're arriving in the middle of the night. It is just a short walk to the beach. They're offering different tours and courses, such as surfing lessons and last but not least it is perfectly clean! I would definitely choose this hostel again!
This is the most terrible hostel I ever stayed. I don't know why it is recommended in Lonely Planet. It was dirty and smelled like toilet everywhere, probably because it hasn't been cleaned for years. I stayed in a 6 bed dorm which didn't even have a working door knob.
This hostel is located outside Guilin in a little village right in the beautiful landscape. It is very quiet there and you can perfectly relax on the loungers in the garden. I had a 4 bed dorm with bathroom which was very clean. For getting to Yangshuo you should rent a bike, then it takes about 10min.
The hostel isn't far from the train and bus station located next to the river. I stayed in a 4 bed dorm with a bathroom but without a window. Besides the room was quite humid and not very clean. Towels didn't get dry at all. The staff is pretty friendly and helps you with organizing tours e.g. to the rice terraces.
This is a wonderful hostel located in an old courtyard in the hutongs of Beijing. People speak English quite well and always try to help when you have a problem. I stayed in a very nice 4 bed dorm with a bathroom ensuite. Everything was very tidy and clean. In the courtyard they have several loungers where you can perfectly relax after walking through Beijing.
