This hostel is located on one of the busiest tourist lanes in Istanbul and thus its location is 'good' if one wants to be in the midst of a constant stream of tourists, cars, taxis, and motorcycles that begins early and stays late. If the visitor is a young male or or female looking for constant partying, then this is the place for you. If one expects to be able to sleep before midnight now and then they should go elsewhere. If this location were quieter it would have a much higher rating.
An otherwise pleasant place at a reasonable price-unfortunately located above a seriously noisy bar playing some of the most monotonous pounding music-like noise ever. Rooms with a view look out over a busy tourist street below which is also noisy until late evening. Excellent and helpful staff
Excellent and knowledgable reception staff....try for room on 4th floor at end of corridors for more peace at night..
The maverick is in excellent location by the Metro and walking distance to Danube and Elizabeth Bridge. Use your Metro pass on the water taxi at the pier 8 going N along the Danube, and can get off near the Chain Bridge (impressive) on the return trip downstream and take the funicular, or if the line is too long, nearby on the corner (next to tiny store below street level and catch Bus 16 (Metro pass) which will deposit you at the top. Bus 16 will also take you back to Szell Kalman Ter Metro M2
This 'hostel' is almost worth the price. The facility is seedy and in need of some serious maintenance. The location-in West Asheville-is good and within ten minutes of the downtown 'fashionable' area. Six people in a tiny room is too many.
If you're coming in late to Lima, or leaving early in the AM, this is an excellent choice for a quiet night's rest after/before your flight, as the airport IS NOT in Lima, but in Callao, which is an expensive cab ride from the airport. Quiet and secure, the Pay Purix hostel will give you a good night's sleep at a reasonable price and a good breakfast, and arrange transport to and from the airport. It's no 4* hotel but still a bargain for late arrivals and early departures....
Can be noisy at times, because of the architecture inside, but this IS a hostel, and the staff shuts things down at a reasonable hour. An excellent bargain in a pleasant neighborhood dowtown. I will return...
Noisy at night; staff needs to keep a handle on the guests outside on the patio after 2400, at least. Morning staff person brought in a dog who barked and could be heard throughout the building. Otherwise a typical hostel experience.
Good price, pleasant family, nice rooms, convenient to Old Town (bus) and bus station (bus,foot)-if you follow their simple instructions, which I did not. My bad. I recommend them strongly! Scott
Good location, close to airport-but verify your taxi cost BEFORE leaving. Considering the price, the breakfast was minimal and some toast, jam, and cereal would be a major improvement.
most archaic computer ever-bad keyboard and badly out-of-adjustment monitor. Should be fixed pronto...teclados estan muy barata!
Good location and reasonable price-but-avoid the downstairs dorms if possible, as they are directly off the lobby/reception and can be noisy at some times with chatting and incoming guests directly outside your room, and a loud doorbell.
Good value, great location, friendly and helpful staff-definitely would return.
A very clean and modern hostal just far enough from El Centro (downtown) and closely managed by Alex, who is very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this hostal, which, in Arequipa, is within bus range of Lima, Cusco, Ica, Tacna, and Nazca.
