You would think that the staff would know the airport bus schedule or at least update the posted schedule...as even though I asked twice...where i could catch it, and would it stop there while reading the dirty worn down schedule, they said yes, yet there was no bus at that time in the morning....thus an exspensive taxi ride:( it's a grest place if you're 18-25 and want to drink at the hostel every night...

I'm enjoy these hip new city hostels, but it would be also awsome iif besides improving atmospheres...they added some cool dorm options, like a dorm room for quiet respectful of others travelers who desire to get to sleep abefore midnight and thus not be awakened by late night chef and late night revelers. Also you could set the dorm lamps on dimmer timers so that when kate night folk return, and turn on the lights...they dont wake those sleeping with brightness!

Thanks for the comments! Sorry you didn't have the best roommates :( The idea about dimmer timers is a good one! We'll look into that and see if it's feasible. I'm glad you think we're hip at least! I hope you'll come back again soon.

One of the few hostels whose staff remain constant...and who actually remember me even if I check in after one year gone.

Perfect location for a traveler wanting to explore Athens and the islands, close to transportation hub to metro, busses to airport, to Plan a and the Accropolis. Friendly helpful staff, who actually will remember you if you return a year later.

Second time staying here...worth every penny. Super staff, easy location to everything, including ferries to islands and buses everywhere.

Helvetia House

Makes you use an out of house left luggage service when checking out, which cost almost half as much as a ferry ticket...not too accommodating for a traveler:( Otherwise the place is a sweet spot to stay with a great balcony view and very clean girls bathrooms and hot showers!

The place exspensive for a dungeon, bascially all a basement, no light or fresh air...ok for one or two nights at 12 euros but not at 30 euros! twelve folk using one toilet and two old cramped showers. The Owner needs to visit some of the 'New Updated Hostels to get Perspective of what Hostels are becoming' Never the less...the Owner Nemo is a super person and very helpful. Pity he doesn't have a better property...:)

Oh are you still disappointed that was not many girls in my hostel in that time... By the way you booked 3 days and you stayed 6 days...... ...God bless you

The Hostel is very laid back and relaxed with a good view of the Sea. The showers need to be updated...as the heating units are old, and don't work so well. Besides that, all is fine:)

The place is fine for a few nights stay. I think a price more like $40 would be better.

A Big Hostel, but has nice spaces to chill, to meet people, a great bar and nice Breakfast selection. Very convenient Location, if you are want to see all the city sights, and coming from TXL Airport. Close to the Metro and the Main beer hall. The Bike rental is a plus...as Berlin is a Bike friendly city.

great location, fantastic view of Hagia Sofia from roof top bar, lots of space to hang with other travelers upstairs and in the lobby. Decent Breakfast for the price of lodging(included) and super friendly staff make this place a win win. I would just suggest providing outlet strips since most travelers carry two or three electronic gadgets that need to be recharged at night. These strips can be bought cheaply across from the Galatta bridge and installed with minimum labor:)
