This hostel is in a sweet location! The rooms are clean, the bathrooms are clean. It's very social, and the bar is good.

Paraty Beach Hostel

Paraty, Brazil

Paraty is really great, try to stay here at least 3 nights 4 days and make sure you go on the boat trip and hike to the waterfalls, even if it's not sunny! The hostel was pretty good but does not have all the facilities advertised, and the rooms are small with no room for your bags or lockers. It does however have hot showers, great location over from the beach and a cool lay out for socialising.

El Misti House

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

This is a pretty OK hostel, the rooms are clean. The bathrooms are average. It was walking distance to the beach and close to transport. If we stayed in Rio again we would probably stay in the Ipanema though. The only thing that was not so good was the transfers, when we arrived at the bus station after traveling over 24hours to get to Brasil we waited over an hour for our pick up to the hostel, then when we left the hostel to meet our bus booking the driver just didn't show up.

This is a great hostel to stay if you are looking for something a little more quiet (not kept up all night by noise). We stayed before and after our trek, Javier took care of all our valuables and bags while on the trek. He also organised airport transfers and washing for us last minute. All the staff were very friendly, they went over and above to care for us. In a nut she'll we would come back, and we would recommend this place to stay. It's just 10 min walk to main square.
