Vallarta Sun Hostel

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
100%

A great hostel. The owner and manager are super friendly and helpful. The location, a stones throw from the beach, can't be matched and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. My dorm room had no outside window, but with plenty of communal space and so much to explore nearby, I was only sleeping there anyway. The kitchen looks clean and the wifi was good. They have luggage storage too, so on my last day I still went to the beach and came to use the shower and the other failities. Thanks guys!

This hostel has little to no atmosphere. I actually moved to it's sister hostel Pangea, which I would recommend. If you're just here tor a night or there's a big group of you, then it's probably alright, but otherwise go for somehere else. When the recommended eating options are t th mall, you know you're in the wrong spot!

It's a bit out of the way and up a LOT of steps, but I enjoyed my time here. I stayed before and after doing the Inca trail, they stored my backpack whilst I was away and were very friendly and helpful.

The Adventure Brew Hostel

Hostel is located really close to the bus station and a short walk from the centre/witches market etc. Free beer every night, though a lot of the Skybar staff chain smoke (including when serving food), which can be offputting for a non-smoker. Otherwise helpful reception staff snd having onsite tour agency makes life easy and prices were comprable to those that booked (Pampas) tour elsewhere.

I arrived in the early hours and was given the option of paying for that night or sleeping on the sofa until check in. The hostel is a little walk from town, but I felt relatively safe walking home at night.

Location is awesome, smack bang in the middle of own. Facilities are pretty good, staff are helpful though they tried to pressure sell tours little while I was there. Six bed ensuite dorm is worth the extra to not share the two main showers.

Plus points: Awesome location, seconds from the bars and resturants of Bellavista. 5 bed female ensuite dorm is spacious, there are heaters in the room and no extra charge, nice duvets and sizable lockers. Negatives: The place is dirty. There is dust everywhere and a strong nasty smell in reception. Noisy too

Dave (the owner) is great at sorting out tours...and booze in general. I even got an upgrade. The hostel is however a little grubby. You'll either love it it hate it!

Great place to meet people. The layout of the downstairs reception, eating, chilling and cooking areas means that this is a very sociable place. Six bed dorm was spacious and bathrooms were clean. Staff were very helpful and it's just a quick walk frim most of the central activities.

Staff were super helpful and sit you down when you arrive to talk you through the areas many activities. Ensuites to the dorms were clean and beds warm and comfy - sometimes it was even a little too hot! Following pn from others comments though, they do have a significant fly problem in the kitchen, their bbq is over priced and the walk up the hill with a backpack isn't fun - it's for trekkers though, so should be more than capable! I still stayed there knowing all that though and enjoyed stay

Very friendly/welcoming hostel. Gaston has a wealth of local info that he's willing to share :) Dorms were nice with sturdy bunk beds, awesome matresses and thick duvets. Nightly asado or prawns was tasty and reasonably priced, The improvement works he's about to tart to kithen and bathooms will make this lovely place even better.

The eight bed dorm was very narrow. The underbed lockers were useful though. Internet was good and common areas were decent.

Location is pretty central (a few blocks from the signpost of McDs), rooms are good and bathrooms are great. Staff are pretty hrlpful and can book tour to Argentina side etc(recommended). The best though is that everything is free! Breakfast, snacks even dinner - "don't starve, have a biscuit"! Plus the internet is the best I've had on this trip.
