Unfortunately, our stay was plagued with errors and issues. There's been an issue with our booking which landed us in a 4 bed dorm instead of 2 doubles. The staff didn't seem to know what to do and the shifts don't leave each other notes, making us pay for what we were not supposed to. The room also was above a VERY loud bar that made even the beds jump far after midnight. I bet this place can be pretty cool if you don't plan to sleep at night. For us, it was a full scale disaster.

Very good location in Barbican centre and very close to the Barbican tube station. Our room was in the 17th floor and had a great view but that's actually it. No character at all, breakfat is served on weekends starting at 10am (which I think is ridiculous, we opted for an eatery further down the street). Good value if the only thing you want is to have a place to sleep close to town. If you're after meeting people, choose another place.

The looks deceipt here: the hostel looks a little shabby on the outside (especially the separate back building) but on the inside it is nicely renovated, modern and well equipped. The advertised wi-fi connection only works in the communal area though. The double room we slept in was small but completely okay considering we only came there to sleep :) Big plus: the hostel is just a block away from Oranienburger Str. with plenty of good restaurants and very good public transport connection.

The place is very friendly but some 15 mins by subway from the centre of city. Worth the stay though, even if rooms (at least some of them,, both we stayed in) are windowless!
