Fantastic hostel. Very friendly staff, great location. Our 4 bed room was lovely - huge living space (with couch for 2 to sleep on) and double bedroom, with very clean bathroom. Was lovely to have our own kitchen area, and it was fantastic to have pastries etc brought to our door for our breakfast. The area was nice and quiet at night too - despite being so close to the centre of town. Highly recommended. Thank you for our stay.

The Hipstel

The noisiest hostel I have ever stayed in, & the staff made absolutely no effort to ensure other guests were even remotely quiet or respectful - even at 4am. I do not enjoy paying for accommodation that it is impossible to sleep in (given the noise). Our double room was ridiculously tiny - there wasn't even room for our bags - the bed took up the whole room. Whilst kept fairly clean, the toilets & showers smelt foul the entire time. Except one person, staff were often rude. Good location.

Hostel is quite far out from the city centre - you need to take a bus to get there. We also had problems getting picked up from the bus station - our email to the owners regarding their free pick up service was not responded to. On the day we left, we were told there would be no drop-off service to the bus station - which was rather annoying, given there was only 1 bus an hour to the bus station, which didn't tie up with the bus to the airport. The room was fine, though could do with sprucing up

Hostel has an excellent central location, and staff were very helpful to us. Only downsides were it would've been nicer without smoking in the corridors (although this is Bosnia...) and our bed was a tiny double mattress balanced on a single bed...

The owner was very friendly and helpful, helping us to find a room nearby for an extra night at short notice, and sharing watermelon and whisky with us on our first night! The room was large, and the location is great. It was very hot though, and we could've done with a/c over a fan.

Good hostel in a good location - only downside was no fan or a/c for the hot summer months! Marija was very kind and friendly and picked us up from the port - don't know how we would've found the accommodation otherwise! Hostel has a nice terrace area you can sit and relax on too.

Luka's Lodge

Hvar, Croatia

Directions to the hostel are rather confusing - for example the name of the ice cream shop you are supposed to walk past would be more helpful than 'walk past the ice cream shop on the pier' when there are several! The directions are also aimed at those coming in to the main pier and not those coming on the ferry into Stari Grad - would be helpful to help out those coming from Stari grad too. Our accommodation was good, a/c was welcome, however, staying away from the main building meant no WiFi.

Croparadise has an excellent location, close to the centre of Split. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a self contained apartment and it was great to have our own pc and wifi. Only downside was that the threadbare towels could've done with replacing!

Nice reception and restaurant area - very attractively decorated. The staff were exceedingly helpful. The location was tricky to find, difficult to access by taxi due to the narrow street which only allowed traffic one way at busy times, and nto really convenient for visiting central Bangkok and seeing the sights. A much better choice if you are simply heading on to the airport. The hostel was very clean - apart from a dirty spreadsheet. Exceedingly minimal rooms.

MD House

Chiang Mai, Thailand
73%

MD House has a good location in Chiang Mai, with generous sized rooms, nice communal areas outside, plus includes a decent breakfast. Whilst the hostel itself is clean, our towels (and to some extent the bedsheets) were pretty unpleasant - really stained, and they smelt! They need throwing away. The lady on reception was also a little brusque. Overall, I'd still recommend - but bring your own towel!

Good hostal. Nice communal patio area, and run by a very nice lady- she even gave us cold bottled wtaer when we arrived, and a packed breakfast when we left at 4am the next morning! Also a good location in a safe area with shops and places to eat nearby.

Good hostal, nice communal areas, and the pool is a nice touch. Restaurant has decent food and there are adequate kitchen facilities. Staff were helpful. Room was fine, probably not enough shared bathroom facilities for the number of people they are designed to be used by.

Cabinas Lupita

Lovely room & very clean, as was bathroom. However the shared bathroom facilities are not sufficient for the number of people they are designed for. Main problem with Lupitas is they close the kitchen without telling you this may happen- we got back at 6.30pm one evening to make dinner and found the kitchen closed-we thought it was available for use at all times. It was closed until 9pm. Again, in the morning, we wanted breakfast at 7 but the kitchen was closed, and no one opened it til 7.45.

Good hostal. Our room was nice, & clean, as were the bathrooms, pool & communal areas. Breakfast was good, & so is the location, if you don´t mind staying out of town. I do think hostals should tell you when they have animals though (eg in case of allergies). Finally, although the staff were very helpful to us in on instance, the rest of the time it seemed like they didn´t want to answer questions, & weren´t very friendly.

Hostal Transilvania

The bathroom wasn´t very clean, & the blankets in our bedroom smelled & were a bit dirty. There are a lot of animals around- it would be good to know this before you arrive. Also it was very noisy- birds, sawing, a crying child all the time and the TV on full blast all the time. Plus the owner spent a lot of time on the guest computers, which is a bit annoying, although to be fair, it never interfered with our access. Breakfast is a bit misleading, it is included in the price, but they give

what i do not understand, that if your room was not clean, so why didn´t you bather telling us. you say that there are a lot of animals around as if it was a bed thing we have a pet dog, a pet rabbit, hamsters in a cage, some fish in an aquarium, and canaries. most people found that amusing and fun. i don`t recall having the Tv as you said, but again if you would mentioned anything we would have lowered the volume. i do use the guest´s computers sometimes, but like you said your self "...it never interfered with our access." when a guest wants to use it, i get up so he/she can use the computer. since you didn´t finish your sentence, i can´t think of any reason why you would say that the breakfast is misleading, if you read other guests review, you would see that guest always compliment our breakfasts.

Very nice hostal. Our room was nice, with a lovely view. The room and the bathroom were clean. Excellent breakfast! Also there was a very nice and helpful female member of staff, who seemed to be in charge. Location was handy, but Cuenca is pretty small, so I imagine many places are.

Good hostel, only real complaint is that the bin in our bathroom wasn´t emptied once during our 3 night stay- not nice in a country where you can´t flush away toilet paper! Other than that, good location in Miraflores, and the lady who seems to be in charge is extremely nice and helpful.

Piccola Locanda

Excellent hostel. The rooms were nice, and everything was very clean. Breakfast was good too. We were very impressed with the staff and with our stay- they didnt have the shared bathroom double room we had booked available, due to decorating, so they gave us an en suite at no extra cost. Piccolo Locanda was more like a hotel than a hostal, with clean towels and house-keeping each day. Would recommend to anyone.

Hostal Sol de Oro

Great hostel. Nice rooms, and very clean. Only thing was it said there was housekeeping yet our bin wasnt emptied during our 3 night stay. Staff were very nice, and breakfast was good too. Great location, right near the Plaza de Armas. Only other issue was that it didn feel like there was a 24 hour reception- sometimes it took a while to find a staff member to answer a question or answer the door! But all in all, I would thoroughly recommend this hostel.

Excellent hostel. It is run by an extremely kind and helpful couple. The rooms were nice, and everything was very clean. Breakfast is served early which is great for those doing trips to places on Lake Titicaca. There are also nice extras, like free DVDs to watch, and each set of rooms has it{s own living room, with free tea served each day.

Great hostel to stay in. Location is good, about a 10 minute walk to the main plaza in the centre of town. Good sized room, cleanest shared bathroom I have seen and a good breakfast. Excellent value. Staff are very nice but speak no English.

Nice rooms and very clean, but difficult to find-signposting isn´t great! Get a taxi/bus to Hostel Inn, then take a right down the dirt track. The hostel is initially sign posted, then the signs disappear! After the first two, which are pretty clear, follow the sign which says habitaciones 200m (take a right), then take a left, and Azaleas Place is just down this road on the right

Telmotango Hostel Suite

Good location in San Telmo area. We stayed in two different rooms- the first was upstairs towards the back and therefore very quiet- but there is no air conditioning, and the fan was terrible so it was unbearably hot. Our second room had a much better fan, which meant it was pleasant to sleep in. Staff were very nice, friendly and helpful, and spoke good English. The breakfast was also good. Bathrooms were not great, and not enough of them, they were clean enough, but not the nicest and they
