The toilet and shower are in one room, and that holds things up. The towels are the size of tea towels - too small. At 3:30 in the morning someone showed up to check in. The check in proceeded to happen in our room which was also the office... Our bunks were just placed in the same room as the office. They woke us up and even after 3 requests didn't take the conversation to the hallway. Then at 7am, laundry started at the foot of our beds. I was not impressed. And THERE IS NO BREAKFAST. A LIE!!!
Cold showers! But otherwise it was a decent place to crash. Near enough to the metro.
Good location - walking distance from most things you would want to see.
Decent hostel. Would recommend it.
The hostel was far from the train station. Take a cab or a bus... bus 10 gets you to the Lenin statue. The hostel was very clean and comfortable. Great beds. Only one toilet though.
There were no lockers available, the beds were horrible (like sleeping in a wobbly canoe) and there was only one toilet available for all the women in the hostel. One of the sinks didn't drain in the bathroom, and there is a strange smell in the common area. The staff didn't really know what was going on or have things prepared when we arrived - no towels available, no maps, no information, and didn't even know how much we had to pay. Also we got moved from 8 to 12 beds out of nowhere.
The room we had was very clean, but the bathrooms were inadequate. There was one measly toilet for all the women of the hostel and it was closed in by a thin plastic wall which didn't provide any privacy at all. The (two) showers were really small and spaced too close together, with a strange little curtain attempting to separate the showers from the rest of the bathroom. However it did nothing to separate the two showers. Hope you like being naked next to strangers. Very uncomfortable bathroom!
