This hostel is more like a hotel with very stylish rooms and a great breakfast. There are lots of bars and restaurant near by and not far from the subway. Breakfast is on the top floor (4th) and there is no elavator. The staff are friendly and the hostel is very clean. The only down side is that if you pay in pesos the you need to add 19% taks. Its a great hostel but there are other hostels in town that are better value for money

I would not recommend this hostel The mattress I had was horrible I could feel every spring. There are a lot of longturm guests staying here and that does not help the atmophere for people staying short turm. Cleanliness ais average at best. There was a room key in the lock of my dorm door during the two nights I stayed there. I left the key at the reception when I left. There is no real controle cotrole on who enters the hostel.

While the hostel has good facilities its location is not ideal. Its about 25 minutes walk from the city center but there is a bus stop near by. There is not real atmosphere to speak of . The novelty of sleeping in a jail wears of quickly as there is no heating in the rooms. They do provide hotwater bottles.

Hi, and thank you for rating our hostel, We're glad to hear that you found the convenient bus stop just over the road from Jail with the frequent service into the city. We also have bike hire to help guests get around. Our guest rooms have central heating which is currently programmed to come on at intervals. All rooms also have extra duvets as well as the hot water bottles and communal areas are kept toasty warm at all times

Dear Guest, Glad you had a great stay with us. Regarding the location, we are sorry if you were disappointed, but we clearly state that Mt Eden is a green and quiet area just outside the city downtown, perfect for travelers looking for serenity. However, we are well located with 3public bus lines passing at the door of the hostel every 10minutes and dropping you in the heart of the city center. Concerning the grocery store, we also have different options around the hostel with a 10 minutes walk.

Thanks for the comment but some information is incorrect. The free internet is 1 gigabyte for all guests and each gigabyte after that $5. The supermarket near the train station is less than 200 meters , few minute walk at best. Train to the city are regular and Central station is only 4 stops, exactly 7minutes Hope this helps.

While habitat has good facilities I did not enjoy my stay.My dorm 6 bed mixt looked and smelled like a teenage boys room. The showers, toilets and kitchen where never clean. Some of the staff are close with the long turm guest (2/3 of the guests ) and seem to see short turm guests as a bother. The internet connection is bad and limited at 200MB per day. Breakfast was gone before I could have some even though is was ontime 8am. Location is ok but not great. I would not recommend staying here.

Jalan Jalan has great location. The hostel it self is clean but its a very old building. Some of the rooms don't have windows and the sheets are very short. Just don't expect a new modern hostel.

Its a decent hostel but some of the staff at the desk need better training and manners. When I checked in they diden't deduct the 10 deposit paid online. When I told the person at the desk he simply ignored. When the persen at the desk changed I was able to get my money back. The 4 bed dorm is tiny ,if it had been full there would have been a serious space problem. There are lockers in the room but only 2. While my experiance wasn't bad I would probably stay somewhere else next time in KL.
