Lagoa Guest House

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

We had a wonderful time at Lagoa Guest House; everything was great except the cleanliness. Our bedroom and bathroom didn't get serviced the entire time we were there. The sheets and rubbish bins were pretty rank by the time we left. This was a little bit gutting as we paid a higher rate per night over Carnival. Otherwise, it was brilliant. The staff were really helpful, the location was really great, the atmosphere was perfect. The free internet computer in the lobby was really helpful too.

We found this hostel very safe, very quiet (the silence at night was bliss after the all-hours noises of Lima), very friendly. The hostel is close to the square, and the staff are more than happy to help you with directions to other facilities. They are fluent in English (my Spanish is terrible - as much as I try, I think it will be forever a work in progress), which is very helpful when you can't find the words in Spanish. The free-to-use computer with internet has also been amazingly helpful.

A fantastic hostel for a stay in Prague. Very close to the old square and many of the sites. The staff were fantastic and friendly. And, the room was clean and not too noisy. Lovely.

Very close to Russell Square tube station, and about equal walking distance to Tottenham Court Road, this hostel was in a very convenient location. There was a grocery store and post office nearby, as well as quite a few bars and restaurants. Admittedly, I found the kitchen available too small to cook in as it seemed to be the single kitchen for the whole hostel. Oh well. The facilities were clean, and the staff were very helpful. It can get a bit loud, but it's still lovely.

What a silly girl I am for going to Marrakech in the middle of summer. The heat was excrutiating. The hostel, too, was warm, but it would be impossible not to in the summer heat of Marrakech. The breakfasts were divine, the service was lovely.

What a lovely little hostel. You might almost go past it on the street if you didn't know better though, it's not exceptionally well labelled from the street. But, it was in an ideal location, close to the shops, and very near to the Colloseum.
