Back after 4 years and it's still as snug, cozy, welcoming and awesome as it was back then. The bar crawl still rocks it. Clean beds, neat breakfast (le crepes were awesome), good vibes and a top notch location.

Cascais Bay Hostel

Grade-A hostel at the top notch center of town. The hostels small size made it very snug and homey, and the terrace views were great. Clean rooms, best toilets out of ALL hostels I've ever been in and the breakfast was nice. Staff was friendly and informative.

Very snug and comfortable, felt like staying at a friend's house. The back yard was nice and the cats (protip for allergics!) were friendly and purred a lot. I can recommend this place heartily; it was a bit off the center but only a short walk, with the added bonus of a quiet place to sleep with and great digs! :)

Porto Downtown Hostel

Ok hostel, though sleeping was very hard in the red dorm due to the massive amounts of music from bars and traffic. In addition, we booked 2 nights, one of them in a 3-person room. When arriving at the hostel we just got informed that we had been bumped to a 10-person dorm for BOTH nights (instead of one in a 6p and one in a private), no apologies or any concessions made. Staff was businesslike but aloof. We booked a private room for a diff. hostel for the second night.

Dona Ana Garden

A bit far off from the center of Lagos, and the hotel was a bit dingy and faded. The advertised balcony had a view of _nothing_ due to the high walls, so it was more of a small courtyard that never saw the sun. Air-con worked, fridge worked, hot waters from tap, so wasn't bad for the price. I'd recommend this as a place to sleep comfortably and quietly, but the place was so dreary to be in that you don't want to hang around at the hostel area. And no, its not a hotel, more like a B&B with one B.

Thank you for your review, your opinion is important. It is a fact, we are not an hotel, we are much more than that we are a small complex, 90% of units are bigger/self-catering apartments, also have private rooms and was on one of these the stay was. Among the units double rooms, all are to the garden and pool, except the exact single one where your stay was, not with balcony but yes a private terrace, not possible other booking was last minute. It was a pleasure to serve you

The Walrus Hostel

A neat little hostel; nice staff, nice facilities and a good bar&kitchen. The room was a bit on the messy&plain side (Twin room) and the railroad noise is always apparent, but all in all I liked the place a lot, not just due to the excellent location and friendly staff, but the great beer on tap as well (Hogsback T.E.A ftw).

A nice hostel, relaxed atmosphere and most of the staff (well all but one of the staff) were nice and helpful. The lack of a kitchen/common room was a bummer though, and the downstairs lounge was occupied by private booked parties on several nights. The beds were neat and comfortable enough. Docklands was a very quiet place but nicely accessible up to 1:30AM or so, so no worries there. Very good value for money, but a bit soulless on the standard I'm used to.

An OK hostel; the lack of a kitchen and a proper social area chafed though (the lounge area was reserved on several evenings).

Grand Hostel Gdansk

A very nice hostel at the dead center of Old Town. Though the streetside rooms had a bit of traffic noise, it was only audible with the window open. Enough clean water, towels and friendly staff. Of the 3 hostels in Gdansk I've been in, this is so far the best, mostly due to location. A relaxing hostel perfect for resting in after a night of barcrawling.

Viru Backpackers

Tallinn, Estonia

An OK-hostel, though the room on the viru-streetside was really noisy. The breakfast was ok, the toilets clean but lacking washing sinks; had to wash hands in the kitchen sink. This hostel shares management with Tallinn Backpackers, so go there if you want to do stuff; the common room isnt stuffy like here, and theres people around.

Best hostel we've ever stayed in! The staff is fun, events are great, security (keycards and keycode-doors) is awesome, and the location just couldn't be better! Rooms are more hotel than hostel-like, and the atmosphere and interiors are awesome. Worth every single penny, and even more! Full 100% on every category from us.

We enjoyed our stay. The hostel is very homely, the breakfast was excellent, the beds comfy and the hostel is nicely placed within a 10min busride from the old town. The fact that there are 3 buses and 2 trams traversing the length between the hostel and the old town is a bonus, since no one likes waiting for a bus for ages. Highly recommended hostel!
