Nice hostel in a great location; very central to attractions and bars/restaurants, but very quiet. The family that run the place are very welcoming and friendly. Beautiful old colonial building with lovely garden and common lounge area. Room was comfortable and spacious, bathrooms good. Wifi worked well. Overall good value in Cuenca.

Huge old building in a great spot in the old town of quito. We had a private room out in the garden which was big (two double beds) and quiet. The hostel is quite big - there are lots of different rooms, its a bit of a maze, but it never felt crowded and had quite a relaxed vibe. I think there were three kitchens and also lots of sitting areas. Bathroom was ok - not possible to have water pressure and hot water, but that's not unusual! Wifi worked well and staff were friendly and helpful.

Lovely hostel in a good location in the centre of town. Great communal areas including a lounge area and fantastic kitchen that guests can use. Showers were excellent (and hot)! We were in the private double in the "shed" in the yard which was cosy and comfortable. Shared bathrooms were good and always clean. Breakfast (6.000 pesos) was a highlight; absolutely delicious! We also had free coffee and juice in the morning.

SieChit√° Guesthouse

Bogota, Colombia

Wonderful guesthouse in the heart of the Candelaria area in Bogota. The house has been beautifully restored and the size (there are only three rooms) makes a nice change from some of the larger hostels in Colombia. We stayed in the red room which was very cosy and comfortable. The whole house has been very well thought out and has everything a traveller could need. Wifi worked well and the included breakfast was delicious. We loved it!

Nice hostel in a quiet neighbourhood, short walk from metro station and zona rosa bars and restaurants. Some nice communal areas and a good, functional kitchen (no breakfast available, but there is a supermarket nearby). Private room upstairs didn't have much character, but the bed was comfy and there was lots of room. Wifi worked well. Shared bathrooms were clean. The staff were fantastic and the best part of this hostel; very friendly and also full of great information!

La Brisa Loca

This hostel has everything a backpacker could want - private room had AC and a fan, comfortable bed and a small fridge. Location is very central, and much closer to the action than many of the other hostels. Wifi was good. Breakfast is not included but they have a good selection of reasonably priced options each day. The communal areas - pool, bar and rooftop are all great, loads of space to hang out. We were there over the weekend which was quite loud, but it didn't bother us.

Casa Sweety

Lovely boutique hostel in a fantastic location in Cartegena - a short walk from the old town, and close to lots of great bars, cafes and street food. The building is beautiful and pool a nice treat after a day walking around. We were in the cheapest room (the one with no windows, which some people have complained about)... it was small but absolutely fine, the AC worked great and it had high ceilings. The bathroom was huge! Wifi was good and the breakfast delicious.

Posada del Gecko

Capurgana, Colombia

The hostel is a short walk to the beach, dock and everything in town (it is a small place!). It has a lovely communal courtyard with hammocks and tables. The rooms were very comfortable with a fan, mosquito net and bathroom. There were no food or bar when we were there, but there are plenty of options in town, and it is nice to bring your own beers back to have in the courtyard. Would recommend this place and Capurgana in general!

Owner Comment (Hide)
Hi Katie, thank you for you nice comment on our hostel and good you enjoyed your stay at our hostel and generally in Capurganà. Unfortunately in those days we closed the italian restaurant for a couple of days as our chef took a couple of days off.

Good hostel in a good location, walking distance from the centre of town. Beds were comfortable and rooms clean. Breakfast is included and was great - cereal, toast and fruit, a good start to the day! Really nicely decorated with some lovely common areas (including the courtyard) and the staff were very friendly. Shared bathrooms were ok, if we had one complaint it is that they could perhaps be cleaned a little more regularly (but they really were fine!).

A wonderful place run by the loveliest hosts - they are so friendly, full of useful information and cannot do enough for you. The location is great, right in the heart of the city, but very quiet. Breakfast is simple but ample. Cute common sitting room with good wifi. The double room with private bathroom is located on the top floor. It is small, but very comfortable and great for a couple. It also has a tv and fridge.

Clean and comfortable room in the centre of Vernazza, just a short walk from the train station and the harbour. Lovely terrace area overlooking the main street. The bed is comfortable, and the kitchen and bathroom are adequate and well kitted out. We were most grateful to be able to do a load of washing too! It's not luxurious, but it has everything you need for a self-catered stay in the Cinque Terra.

Great hostel in a great location. The private room with own bathroom was beautiful and very comfortable. The bathroom was lovely with lots of hot water (albeit with a push button shower). The common areas of the hostel are also very nicely decorated and comfortable - they really have thought of everything you could want. The included breakfast was very good: cereal, toast, fruit, juice, tea and coffee. Staff were friendly and helpful. We'd definitely go back.

This hostel has lots of character (it's very blue!) and is excellently located in the medina (close to both the main square and Bab El-Ain). Breakfast is decent and included - bread, honey, omelette, coffee and juice; showers are good, and beds are pretty comfy. It was quite cold when we stayed in February, but lots of blankets are provided to keep you cosy at night. Also, be aware that the twin room with the shared bathroom is a fair walk from that bathroom (on the next level). A good stay!

Great hostel in a fun neighbourhood. Private double room was roomy and comfortable. Shared bathrooms were spotless and there was never a wait. Great facilities, and the breakfast for 2 euros was very decent. Many cool cafes and bars nearby, and walking tour is also very good.

Cross between a hotel and hostel in an excellent location in Amsterdam - away from the crazy city centre, but in a relaxed neighbourhood and close to lots of great bars and cafes. Walking distance to all points of interest. Beds were really comfy, and rooms spacious enough. Shared bathrooms were small but clean. Probably could have been more showers though! Fun bar downstairs. Were some noisy groups late at night, but it was Saturday in Amsterdam so we can't really complain.

This hostel has a great vibe and was a fun place to stay. There are a lot of long term guests which has its pros and cons. Some breakfast foods are provided, but you will need to buy at least milk. Bathrooms are good, beds basic but comfy. Some rooms are not overly private. Overall, would stay again.

Nice hostel located a short walk from the Latin Quarter and Boul St Laurent. Friendly staff, decent breakfast (toast, coffee and oranges) and all the amenities you need. Shared bathrooms are a llittle cramped, but functional.

Small and v. basic room at college dorm building. Twin room consisted of one foam bed on wooden slats, and one foldaway spring bed that has seen better days. Both were a little uncomfy but ok. Clean but tiny bathrooms and reasonable common areas. Good breakfast and nice location. Price is right so can recommend - but only for budget travellers.

Definitely more of a B&B than a hostel, it is the little extras that make this a great place to stay. Excellent cooked to order breakfasts, use of the kitchen, laundry service, maps, tour desk and staff that go above and beyond. Muy bien!

A charming little hostel located about 3 or 4 blocks from the zocalo. Staff were pleasant enough without being super friendly - we encountered no problems checking in and enjoying the facilities. Our private room was very big and airy, the courtyard is also lovely. Not much of a group atmosphere and a fairly basic (but ok) breakfast.
