Had a great time here, one of the best hostels I've stayed in, and I've had lots of experience. We were three booked in for a 4-person dorm, but the owners were able to put us in a three person room when we arrived (they must of had a cancellation). Lovely kitchen and sitting room areas to relax for a couple of hours. And everything else was as fine as you would expect.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Old Town Hostel in Tbilisi, and the owner Giorgi.

Like other reviews said, the staff were really awful, not a smile out of any of them. Breakfast was meant to be available until 9:30, but they had already started clearing up before 9:20, and wouldn't give us any. Not worth staying at.

Unforgettable Nights

This place has a lot of potential (it's quite new), and we really enjoyed our time there. The staff were very nice and friendly, and gave us loads of useful information and recommendations. They are adding things all the time (while we were there a new kitchen was being put in). Breakfast was also included.

Very friendly and helpful staff, in a good location.

Very average hostel. One member of staff was a particularly difficult person. During low season he locks all bathrooms bar one in order to, quoting his words, "reduce my workload". This is not the way to do business.

Diep Anh Guesthouse

Solid hostel. No wi-fi in rooms from the third floor up, but they can provide you with a cable to plug in. Owners were nice and friendly, and gave a quick intro into what to see in the city and surrounding. They made me move room to another hostel around the corner for the last night, which was a bit annoying, and with no discount for my trouble.

Royal Inn

Not really a back-packers place, but was good in general. Good wi-fi throughout the place, but the staff were not useful for getting around and doing things, as their English was limited.

Rosy Guest House

Was a good place, but didn't quite live up to the hype that others placed on it. Pool table and reliable wi-fi throughout was a big positive though.

Loved the place, great design, and everything is done so well. Staff are friendly and helpful. Also (and it feels weird to be saying this), the soap smells awesome... Attention to detail is second to none.

Great place to stay, the owners are really nice, and you can get a free night if you beat Dave at pool. I didn't, and had to buy him a beer. Rent the electric bikes to get around town, it was great fun.

Long May Youth Hotel

As mentioned before, the staff don't speak much English, but that wasn't too big a problem. The rooms are small, but very well laid out, with everything you might need. Very clean.

A potentially great hostel undermined by a money-grabbing owner and disrespectful, "foreigners are rich but stupid" attitude. Expect indifference from the staff if you don't join their organised tours.

It is very clean and the staff very friendly. Thanks to Milla intervening on our part we got to secure our tickets out of Russia just in time, before the train sold out and our visa expired!

Meeting Point

This place is not a youth hostel, but a Soviet-era private apartment (including the bathroom) doubling as a Y.H. A stay may itself qualify as a unique tourist attraction for exotic value . But don't touch the electrical appliances unless necessary: My husband nearly got electrocuted by a wall light in the bedroom!

Atmo Hostel

New hostel, was difficult to find, pointed it out to the people who run it and they said it is because they are new, and have put up a sticker on the outside door for it, but the street cleaners in Russia keep peeling it off. They have to go through some more red tape (typical Russia) to get a proper plastic sign put up. Staff were very friendly.
