Astor Museum Inn

London, England

While the hostel was extremely well located and quite clean, a MAJOR issue was the soundproofing of the room, or rather the lack of it. We were repeatedly woken up by guests in other rooms opening & closing their doors (believe us, the doors make a huge noise) and could quite clearly follow conversations of people around us. Another problem was that even though we had a sink in the room, the water was not drinkable.

KEMPE Komfort Hotel Dusseldorf

Dusseldorf, Germany

Floor was very dirty and stained, need to take a tram to get to city center (unexpected), not sound proof at all and right next to a train station... , 5th floor and elevator broke down... On the plus side: welcome peanuts on the pillow, helpful staff, free parking possible in the street

Hotel Cecil

Marrakech, Morocco

Good looking riad, very nice terrace overlooking the Jemaa-el Fna square, room was quite big, nice bed ;-) Very noisy due to the loud prayers from the three nearby mosques and the current (Jan ´11) construction works above us. Very dirty bathroom (stains on the shower screen, dirty sink, awful smell coming up from the plumbing), staff doesn´t speak French/English.

Les Couleurs de L'Orient

Marrakech, Morocco

Very disappointing : looked great but it´s actually a hammam/cafe with a bar and foosball table in the center patio of the riad. This makes the riad extremely noisy, the staff spends a lot of time talking very loudly to each other (also a mosque is very near to it, so the morning prayer is very loud!). The room didn´t close, the bath room was very dirty, there was no toilet paper and the shower head was broken. We travelled as a couple and the staff was quite judgemental...

Amour de Riad

Marrakech, Morocco

Very small room, could hear the neighbour snore, squeaky bed :-). ground floor room, we could hear everyone in the patio talking. very friendly staff, good-looking, traditional patio, free mint tea :) and cute roof terrace!
