Great little hostel. Owners very helpful. Nice breakfast (no stale bagels or door stop pancakes). Dorm a little cozy and could be stifling in summer. Common area very comfy.

A comfortable hostel. Good kitchen and eating area. I do think HI hostels should as a standard provide some sort of basic breakfast. Train and supermarket close by.

HI-Ottawa Jail Hostel

One of the more fun hostels to stay in. If you get a bit nervous in confined spaces then maybe not for you. They do cram a few bunks in and when the door closes it is a bit stifling. And I can only imagine it would be worse in summer. But showers, brekky and wifi all good.

Doors not locked. No shoes inside, get to walk through muck in the kitchen. Supposedly no cooking in kitchen before 8am but then huge groups get to ignore this rule and make enough noise to wake the dead. No breakfast. $8 return to get to town. 2 toilets and 3 showers for 35+ women. Second part of 40 bed dorm smells disgusting and has no windows. And to get to the toilet it is upstairs, then over, then down again. Ridiculous set up. Common room ok if music is quiet otherwise no talking possible.

Great location. Breakfast good. A lot better than some of the HI hostels in Canada. Good to see some competition.

Lockers were good. Beds comfy. Pancake breakfast was great. Cable TV a bonus. Blocked toilets were a bit annoying. And a cheap shuttle to the airport is much appreciated.

Lockers in room did not work. Mattress older and lumpier than me. Fan achieved nothing. Spend most of your time waiting for the toilet or the shower. Kitchen got locked. Kicked out of common room as they don't think you should be watching TV after 9pm. Other TV room only allowed dvd's. Way too much clutter and stuff everywhere. Breakfast was ok though. Not impressed. Great room for the price. Own shower and toilet. Kitchen had all the gear I needed. Bit far from a supermarket so you have to bus around the place. But this is cheap. They are currently renovating and cleaning.

Bed was comfy. Lockers in room are excellent. Breakfast was filling. Coffee all day is great. Close to supermarket. Only down was if someone was using bathroom in the room. Not a lot of choices if you need the bathroom. Cable TV a plus.

Bed was great. Lockers in the room for valuables is always a good thing. Porridge or pancakes and coffee for brekky is fine by me. Wifi worked well. Train easy to catch outside as I found walking to the French Quarter just a bit too far. All in all, a great new addition to hostels in New Orleans.

The price is too high. The breakfast is ordinary. Showers are too few and falling apart. But security is good and they do put the air con at night if you ask which is a bonus when it gets too hot. No cold drinks can be bought there.

An hostel in London with a kitchen is always a bonus. Curtained beds are great. Wifi worked in the room. Breakfast was simple but more than adequate. Although plastic mugs and bowls are a bit ordinary but understand the reasoning.

Not good value when there is no breakfast and no wifi upstairs. Also, I paid over 20 pounds when booking then found the prices had dropped to 13 pounds before getting there. I should have cancelled and rebooked as the hostel was not interested in just charging the decreased amount when I arrived.

Great rooms with curtains around the bed. However hostels in London are always WAY too overheated. Gets very stuffy. And the kettles and toasters not working on the first morning was a real pain.

Air con was great. Breakfast was good. Bathrooms had running water but toilet paper ran out in at least 2 toilets. The reception was excellent and helped wherever possible. The lockups under the bed were ok but not foolproof. Would stay again.

Hi Cynthia Great hearing from you once again. It was a pleasure to meet you. Thanks as well for taking the time to write a review. My apologies for the lack of cups/mugs in the room. We have sorted this now and have restocked all the kitchens in the hostel. We wish you all the best for the rest of your travels in Australia and good luck in Singapore :) The Sleeping Inn Team

Only stayed here so I could catch the easybus which is nearby. The Hostel is typical of a few London ones. Smelly, tired, cramped and housing those who are working in London. Fine for one night.
