The place is good if all you are looking for is a hot shower and a bed. It is a very old building and not very well maintained. I was in a single room, which only had an old metal bed; two metal lockers and a sink. It smelled like mold and you coulnd't open a window because there was an airconditioning unit in it. NOt really the type of place where people would hang out and meet other travellers. The location was alright, 15 minutes walking from Penn station; 20-25 to Time Square. Area is safe.

Atlantis Hotel Thessaloniki

Thessaloniki, Greece

The hotel is in a very old building. The rooms are small and feel very crammed. But it is on the main street, 10 min from the main square, the train station and the port. If all you need is a good value place to spend the night, this one is worth it!

Kalambaka, Greece

A good hotel with fair prices. It is located close to the bus station and the town centre. The hotel itself is good, nothing special, has air conditioning which is great! A bit older but that's still fine!

Sibylla Hotel

Delphi, Greece

This is a lovely small family hotel right in the centre of Delphi city. It was the best place we stayed in Greece on a budget. Great value for money. The family is very professional and helpful. The hotel is cleab and the rooms look towards tge mountain. We could have stayed there for a week! Highly recommended!

Athens, Greece

Great value for money, mostly due to amazing location (within 10 min from the Acropolis and 3 metro stations). The hostel has lots of character. Free breakfast in the morning was great. Air conditioning helped with the heat. Some of the rooms are a bit noisy facing the street. The biggest issue are the bathrooms but nothing too major. They have someone on staff 24 hrs. Would stay there again.

Paraga Beach Hostel

Mykonos, Greece

This hostel is the most party hostel I have ever been to (and i have stayed in dozens of hostels on six continents). It is right next to the beach and the music around the pool is blasting from mid morning to late at night. No matter whether you are staying in the huts, the shared canvass huts, the tents or the RV area, you will be hearing the music till 3 am every night. Water is showers and sinks is seawater. The place is not too clean. It's a bus ride away from Mykonos main town.

Hotel Perissa

Santorini, Greece

The hotel has a lot of character. Rooms are basic but clean and have TV and mini fridge. The water in the shower and the sink is sea water, so not the niceat feeling. The location is pretty remote both from the main towns of Fira and Oia, and from the beach (30 min walking). It's a bit in the middle of nowhere and even with Santorini's extensive bus network, is tough to get to if you have no car. The good news is that the owner will drive you to and from the port or the airport.

Santa Barbara Tourist Hostel

Santa Barbara, USA

I stayed in the 12-bed female dorm. It wasn't as bad as it may sound; there were only 7 of us really. The hostel is a great place to stay for a night or two in Santa Barbara. It is right across from the train station (not really noisy), 3 min walk to the beach and 5 min to the central street. However, it is one of the more old-fashioned places with curtains on the bathroom stalls, no individual lockers, the old metal bunk beds, etc. Breakfast is just toast and jam and everything is basic.

Adelaide Hostel and Hotel

San Francisco, USA

I stayed in a 4-bed female dorm. The room was small, but okay especially if you are just coming in to sleep. The hostel is located 10 min walking distance from the cable cars and Union Square and the subway, which is a huge bonus. The beds are the standard metal bunks that could make lots of noise during the night. They also have lockers for your valuables. Breakfast is really good: home-made oatmeal with fruit, bagels and bread with assorted jams, Nutella, peanut butter.

USA Hostels San Francisco

San Francisco, USA

I am very perplexed as to why this hostel is on the top hostel USA list... I stayed in a 4-bed female dorm. The room was super tiny for 4 people, very stuffy with no window and the building is old. The bunks are nicer than some other hostels though, more stable, higher and each bed has an electrical outlet and a light with a shelf on the wall. Breakfast is a pancake mix and then you make your own, nothing else is available. Location is okay; too close to the Tenderloin (ghetto neighbourhood).

Brussels 2GO4 Quality Hostel

Brussels, Belgium

The place is super small! The 4-bed room was smaller than an average size bedroom; and the bathroom was so tiny that you can't really rotate inside. On the other hand, location is good (10 min from Nord Station and 10 to Centrum), place seems clean, staff is nice, etc.

YHA London Central

London, England

Great hostel in London, highly recommended! I've stayed in other places, and have to say that this will be the one to come back to in the future. They are 10 min from Oxford and Piccadilly, run more like a hotel really; even good for families. I loved that they offer food all day in the dining room downstairs. Internet is very expensive, but I guess that would be the only negative about this hostel.
