High quality hostel in a very nice location near colourful parks, main attractions and pedestrian street. Charming architecture with lots of character, the inner courtyard is a real paradise, perfect to chill, play pool, have a quick relaxing tan, a good breakfast or socializing with guests. Then not a party hostel but definitely not a dead place. Rooms are cosy and beds are comfortable. The whole hostel is reguarly cleaned by David, the owner, who is a real bless for who ever need good advices.

I stayed just one night and did not do much except planning my trip to Belize so I did not care about the location. Still, I could see the hostel was clean and tidy, the living room was perfect to chill with comfortable sofas and cable TV. Breakfast is simple but at least provided. The owner is a helpful friendly woman who made a reservation for the boat to Caye Caulker. Let's give Chetumal a few more years and it might be an interesting city for tourists.

Awesome! We feel happy to get a 90% from a globetrotter as you! It's good to know that you liked our hostel and our staff! As you know when hostel is fully booked is almost impossible to keep the bathrooms perfectly clean all the time, but we'll try to do our best during these seasons, if you visit Guadalajara again and you want to stay in the heart of downtown I invite you to stay at our sister hostel, the Hospedarte Centro Hostel. Anyway both areas: Downtown and Chapultepec Ave. are the two most beautiful and touristic areas in town, depends what each traveler wants. When you check in very late, you may not get the standard check in overview which includes a very thorough map "class" (so to speak) Please remeber that Houdton is the 4th largest city in the US, BUT it's situated in the South which means we are enormous in terms of Space! : ) That's why it's important to properly check in so you can receive good information about how to move about the city- arts that dense, parts that are not. Leah has a resevoir of info. you just needed to ask. ) You checked in very late, and when staff was availalbe you were already out & about. We didn't see you much unfortunately. And when we were in the office, you did not make yourself available. Danny & Leah are super friendly & apprachable. Very well located, safe, friendly helpful staff, nice common area, very clean rooms and bathrooms. The free pasta meal on Wednesday is a very good idea. Big downside : in high season, a man will have a hard time getting a bed since he can only sleep in a male dorm. Mixed dorm are available only if he comes with a woman. Weird logic : if a woman is scared to have a man in her dorm (?!), what is the difference if he comes with a woman (who could actually be just a friend) ?

Hi Renaud, we're happy that you enjoyed your stay! Here's the logic behind our mixed dorm room: First, we have more showers for women than we do for men, so if we filled our mixed dorm room with men all the guys would be complaining about having to wait for a shower. Second, while you may find it very pleasant to be the only guy in a room full of women, many women do not share this fantasy of being the only woman in a dorm room full of men. It is not about women being "scared", it's a question of comfort. Women booking into our mixed dorm room can be assured that they will be only sharing the room with other women or women traveling with their friends, brothers or boyfriends (ie, no creepy guys). The dorm room also has a female-only bathroom with showers. Men have to use the bathrooms and showers located in the hallway.

Nice, clean hostel very well located in the old town. Huge boxes for big backpacks in the dorm. The skylight room with mattress on the floor is very good value. The king-size bed private room is also a great choice. One bad point : pool table and big TV are separate from the common room and are very hot and humid. It splits the entertainement area in 2... Perfect location 5 minutes slow walking to P.Square, mall, fast food, metro station. Friendly helpful staff. First dorm I slept in (305) was ridiculously small, the second one (310) was 2 to 3 times larger for same number of beds, for same price. Cleanliness 4/5 just because of the high number of people. Only bad point : Had to ask toilet paper each time since the roll given is really tiny and OK for 3 people and no "back-up" roll available in the toilet. Great common area. Good food.

Merci! thanks to our guests from the beautiful country of France. Merci for sharing to travellers that Manila Bay Hostel has "good location" near Intramuros & Malate, plus a hundred other interesting places. Yes, indeed, our young staff are trained to be friendly, polite, and helpful in personalized service, though we are a simple hostel & not a luxury hotel... Apologies no common area, because real estate in this prime location in downtown city center is so expensive, we are just a simple but safe and clean sleeping place for international tourists. Thanks your frank comments and for staying. Feel free to post new ideas or suggestions and to "like" the Manila Bay Hostel page in Facebook. or email me the owner for suggestions at gh_realty@yahoo.com Once again, our sincere Thank You and Merci! thanks to our many French guests & other Europeans who keep coming here. We are open 24 hours daily. Regards to all! merci!

Great Hostel. After almost 7 months travelling, it was good to find such an hostel. Dina and the staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms quiet and clean. Perfect location. I am by the way gonna book for a few nights more at the end of the week when I ll be back from Aswan... One last thing : NEVER TRUST TAXI DRIVERS !!!

Owner Comment (Hide)
Thanks for the comment and thanks for leaving me your targets from the shooting range, I will hang them. There is a map on hostelworld so you can see where the hostel is before booking it and then complaining about it. Most guests come here to go to the Golden Sands where all the parties are, to go to the beach, hot springs and NOT to be in Varna city that as beautiful as it can be after 1day gets boring. Here people stay longer to enjoy the hostel atmosphere. If you book 1 night you will probably not enjoy X HOSTEL too much :)

Good hostel, the cheapest we found. However, it is near the port so not very close to the city center... need 40 minutes to get in the center.

Great Hostel ! I have been travelling for 3 months and a half, this was the best hostel I have ever stayed in... Arjian, Jasmin and Ljulieta were like part of my family. We had great conversations. I have been travelling for 2 months and I have to say that THIS hostel is the best in every ways. Marcus and Lyuba are just incredibly friendly, more than their job requires. You can t wish another best location in the city. The appartment is clean and safe. Balcony available with direct view on the Main Street, but don t worry, when you close the window, there is no noise anymore... you just think you re in the desert. And last but not least, it is very cheap ! Go there now ! It is an order !
