I'm very mixed about this hostel. The rooms were really great and the breakfast was good, but they are unable to manage their bookings properly. They will not let people who have been staying there awhile book extra nights. Even after booking expensive tours with them, and trying to book days in advance they always say I don't know, they have to wait and see about online bookings. And then that they are full. If you want to stay here, book all your nights in advance.

Dorm room on the ground floor is very cramped. No room between bunks, and nowhere to put your bag. They have lockers but backpacks will not fit in. Breakfast in normal, eggs and baguette. Lots of problems trying to book extra nights. Need to sort out their reservation system. If you want to stay a few days, book all your days in advance. Do your research when it comes to tours to halong bay. Lily is lovely!

Good hostel with a dangerously cheap happy hour. Good place to meet lots of people. Quite a walk to the citadel but close to food, bars and other guesthouses. Rooms were very small for 6 people.

The hostel itself was lovely, and they have taken great care in the bedrooms providing everything a traveller could need, plugs, curtains, lockers etc. but they only have a microwave and a kettle in the kitchen! Not enough! And there is no drinking. They charged me 100 r to leave my luggage in "storage" aka on the floor in the common area where anyone could access it. Staff spoke no English. There was a 70 year old woman sleeping below me. Probably still the best pick in Nizhny.
