I had a great time in this hostel. The atmosphere was awesome, the staff members had the perfect mix of friendliness and professionalism. The rooms were spacious and spotless, the whole hostel was extremely clean in general. The awesome terrace had a great view of the city and the sea, and it was just a great place to chill. The bar and living room were okay, but they could improve I guess. I met lots of cool people here and would definitely come back if I visit Valparaiso again.

Had mix emotions about my stay. The hostel itself is good and the staff members were truly doing their best for everyone to have a good stay. In that regard, I had a good time and met very nice people. However, there was clearly a lot too handle the whole time, drunk and horny guests, pets, people coming back from parties during the late night, a lot of sand in the bathrooms from people coming from the beach. Also, even though the location is great, the street itself is a little sketchy.

Great value for money! I had a fantastic experience and got to meet lots of cool people. The staff was really helpful, the breakfast was good and the common areas were great. Unfortunately, it was really hot on some days during my stay and it was a little hard to sleep at night, even with the fans the staff provided.

Good hostel, but the facilities were a little limited. The showers in particular were not nice at all and they provided no privacy at all. Too many drunk people at night sometimes as well. The staff was okay most of the time, but some didn't have enough knowledge about the city. I have stayed in other hostels from this brand, and there are better ones definitely.

Great stay, the hostel is really good and spacious. The location is excellent, but unfortunately, the grocery stores are a little away. The rooms were really big, even though I was in a dorm it felt like I had my own space. The staff was great, but some weren't that hospitable. I think it is worthy to mention that the internet was really fast.

Great stay, the staff was very professional and nice most of the time. The breakfast was excellent, but it is a shame that they have no kitchen. Some of the cleaning staff were a little moody, but it is understandable. I know the hostel cannot control it that much, but every single morning all the bathrooms were trashed because of the drunk people during the previous night.

Great hostel, though it felt more like a hotel with dorms than a hostel. The staff was very professional and hospitable, which was great. The rooms and pretty much every place were spotless and cleaned frequently and thoroughly. Just a few little things in the room were not working well (like some lockers and the towel rack). They offer a breakfast too, which is relatively good, but I would say that it is quite pricey as well. It's literally in front of the Natural History Museum, great location

It's right in the city center. It was kind of noisy at night though. The breakfast was okay, but a little limited, it needed more protein. The common area at the basement was being remodeled, so perhaps in some time things will really improve. The bathroom at the dorms was a little weird, the motion detectors from the lights are in a small hall, so the lights might turn off while you are on the toilet or showering.

The facilities were a little limited, but it was okay for the price. The rooms are a little crammed, but the beds are really comfortable. The showers don't offer much privacy, but since there wasn't many people when I was there it was okay. The manager was really kind and friendly, always ready to help with anything or to have pleasant conversations.

They were remodeling, so its future seems promising. When I was there, the rooms were kind of okay, it was not as crammed considering the number of beds. To get to the showers and toilets it was a little dungeony though. The common area was in another building and it was a little limited too.

Youthful and fun atmosphere. The "Posh Lounge" truly looks impressive for a hostel. The rooms are really big and there are lockers, plugs and bedside lamps for every guest. It is right next to the Castle, so its location is basically as good as it gets. The staff was helpful and polite. The laundry service was relatively cheap, but I'm afraid they lost one of my socks! The bathrooms and toilets weren't that private. Regardless of that, I would totally return here on my next stay in Edinburgh.

Great stay. The staff was really helpful and welcoming, the atmosphere was just great and the breakfast was quite good for a hostel too. The dorms were really spacious, so it didn't feel crowded at any point. It is close to the city and the bus and train stations. There were just some details I would fix. The lock in the dorm toilet was broken and the showers were not that nice. Also, the rooms were very well cleaned, but not thoroughly, the carpet was not vacuumed while I stayed there.

The dorms were quite big, so even though there were almost 20 beds, it didn't feel crowded. The showers were too public, only a glass door with some glazing covering you. The showers were also scalding how and it was impossible to regulate the temperature. Some of the toilets were kind of old looking as well and spilled water all over the place when flushed. The breakfast was okay, but I feel that it needed more protein.

Only big complain... some of the bedrooms are literally over a club and the speakers blast music until 3 am. The whole room shakes and it is virtually impossible to sleep. Also, it wouldn't be bad to include some protein into the breakfast.

Mixed feelings towards the staff, most were polite, but only some were truly hospitable. The breakfast was ok, but it was pure carbs, if they have the money to buy so much Nutella, I think they can afford some ham and eggs too. The 12 bed dorm is a torture, too small for so many people, get ready for a 3 floor bunk bed. It is forbidden to bring in the room, but there is a reason. A girl was eating in my room and later 3 mice appeared, thankfully the staff allowed me to change rooms later.

Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review! I am sorry that you found the free breakfast and the organization of it, unsatisfactory. We have taken on board the comments from our customers. We always are looking for ways to improve our continental breakfast. We have different types of dormitories available to suit different types of travelers, depending on their budget. We are working very closely with Crystal Pest control to take care of this issue. Cheers and happy travels! HPI Team

The location was a big plus, close to the train station and the city center, and steps away from the presidential palace. The staff was quite hospitable, they assisted me happily every time, even though I was constantly asking them questions. One thing to improve, the rooms and the toilets are not in optimal conditions. I saw the toilets clogged a few times, but thankfully it was solved fast every time. There were many older people staying too, so there wasn't really a backpacker atmosphere.

Hello, thanks for your possitive also "negative" feedback :), this is the reason we are trying to do things better and better. Also have in the plan the recounstruction of our facilities, one after one. About the age of our guests - we´re not used to limit them according the age. Many times, older people can have "young travel spirit" as well:). Thanks for staying with us Sincerely DBH

The staff was excellent, very helpful, professional, hospitable and cheerful. The breakfast was ok, but it was a little too expensive for what is offered. The dorm room was not that good. I am not sure to which extent I can blame the staff, but it was not clean, it was messy and people had their stuff all over the place. The bathroom wasn't that clean either, but again, it was probably the guests fault. I didn't feel a youthful atmosphere either, some guests didn't fit the place at all.

Both the common areas and the bedrooms were great. I would say it is among the best hostels in Asuncion. The value for money is the main advantage of this hostel. The common areas are really nice, but the dorms are really ugly. The wall was moldy, the beds and lockers sucked and the bathroom was quite dirty. Almost all the guests were Brazilian students that were truly annoying, they should try to segregate tourists and students in some way.

The owner is an Italian lady that speaks NO English or Spanish at all... but she is quite kind and funny though. Stay here if you want a relatively comfortable stay, but forget about the "hostel" experience.

The price might be tempting, but I don't believe it is worth it. The location is really a BIG downside, it is away from everything you will want to see and even walking from the station is tiresome (steep hill). Some of the staff did not speak English at all and weren't really friendly either. The reception looks nice, but the rooms are really bad, it felt like a prison. I didn't feel like in a hostel, but like in a cheap pension. It has potential though, with a few changes it could become good.

The place was really clean and nice, it just lacked good common areas. I didn't really feel a "hostel" atmosphere because of that, it just lacked the "something more". The staff was great and also quite "Italian"; you felt like if you were at a real Italian home! Yet, at some points it was just too much, as I am not used to people being so loud. They should be more selective with their guests. There was a disturbing old woman staying there, who made weird noises and didn't really belong.

This hostel is definitely an awesome investment. I payed so little, but felt like I had my own apartment! The staff was really friendly and helpful as well! However, there was a little couple that I had to interrupt at the reception every time I went there. The only issue I had is that the 3 days that I stayed there were other really impolite guests staying as well, they were loud, violent and unfriendly: they even threatened a guy that was just telling them to be a little more quiet.
