Perfect location to explore Penang. We stayed in a private room d havr no complaints about hostel and staff. John is really helpful in telling you where you should go and what should see. Everyone respected the quiet hours while we were there but can understand it can a noisy place due it being an old building and the echoes. I would recommend this hostel to everyone travelling to penang
I would recommend this hostel to anyone! Great facilities, basic breakfast included- but still good, good kitchen facilities and friendly staff. Its not right amongst the sights, but super easy to get to and a cheaper area away from tourist traps!
Overall it was a great hostel. i liked that the 8 dorm room was actually split into two rooms and had a bathroom and kitxhen just for the 8 people. the brackets on some of the doors rattled which beca noisy during the night and early morning. complimentary tea, coffee and milk was great too. Basically a great place to stay whether your in town for a night or 5.
Great location, facilities are good. Bathrooms can be cleaned a little more reguarly. Breakfast was basic, no worse than elsewhere though. This hostel would be a lot better if WIFI worked, however I was aware of this issue, so wasnt too annoyed. Bar area is good, however would be nice if there was a seperate chill out area for guests only. Will stay again!
Its not a bad hostel, just not the best. It was cheap and definitely did get a bargain for the price. The showers are some of the best Ive had at a hostel, and the staff are continuously cleaning, however its never completely "clean". The kitchen is very basic. There are a few long term guests staying, and some think they own the place. It is in zone 3 so you will pay for the transport to and from the touristy area. It definitely isn't the worst place to stay, just don't expect it to be amazing.
