Hector is a great, helpful guy and he runs a colourful, quiet little hostel in central Cancun. Aircon in the private rooms is great, kitchen has almost everything you need, beds are comfy enough and it's nice and close to buses for the beach and the parque de las palapas, which is a nice scene in the evening.

The staff is really helpful and fun and the prices are reasonable. Location is excellent, just down from bustling Istiklal Caddesi (plenty of bars and restaurants) and well away from the merciless tourist hustle of Sultanahmet. The hostel itself is a little dark and dingy (the photos aren't quite accurate) and you'll have to be up relatively early to get hot water in the showers.

This is one of the best hostels I've been in in Europe. It's quiet, the breakfast is great, it's central and Matt is awesome. Anything he recommends, you should give it a go. It's a bit quiet now (I was the only one there) but Matt's got some awesome suggestions for, say, going out where you'll meet locals and have a heap of fun anyway.
