Casa Miraflores, Cali, Colombia

9th Dec 2015

One of the best hostels I have ever stayed in! The house is absolutely gorgeous. Every detail has been thought of to create a sense of home, peace (for sleeping off noches de salsa!) and Colombian hospitality. Staff are a beautiful group of people always willing to help or just to chat. Breakfast = excellent, coffee all day :) great kitchens too. They can arrange salsa lessons right there in the hostel: Cesar is a great profe! The neighborhood is a charming ideal location. Hay que ir!

Hostal Kaleidoscopio, Manizales, Colombia
10.0
5th Dec 2015

Kaleidoscopio feels like home! Beautiful old building but with huge beds, tons of space and a great common apace. Showers were awesome too. Marta the owner is so kind and helpful and cooks the delicious breakfast everyday! Gizmo the dog is the best as well :) location is perfect for getting anywhere in Manizales. Highly recommended to any type of traveler. Only suggestiosuggestion is perhaps to have a computer onsite but almost anything you need to know Marta can help you with :)

Wonderful sociable hostel! Perfect balance of fun and chill. Lots of open spaces bringing folks together. Yummy breakfast and good kitchen equipment. Lovely staff! Location is the best - away from noise but close to the action/supermarket/metro. Overall was a great place for solo traveler!

The Explorers Guesthouse and Hostel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
9.7
30th Aug 2013

Explorer's Guesthouse is an excellent choice to feel at ease in the big city! Welcoming staff & great large common area perfect for meeting other travelers. Loved the bathroom decor and always spotless. Dorms were sturdy and not squeeky for once! Good A/C and lockers to rent for good security. Location is perfect as you're close to the LRT line and Chinatown/Central Market within a few minutes walking. Breakfast was basic but coffee and tea available all day & they have Peanut butter : )

Sihome Backpackers Hostel, Vientiane, Laos

Amazing vibe and really social place to stay in Vientiane! As a solo traveler, I instantly had a wonderful group of friends! Being slightly out of the center, it is on a quieter street but still only 10 min walking. Free breakfast was great, rooms were spotless, a/c strong, great showers and genuinely caring staff. Can't say enough about the friendliness. Great value for dorm rooms, and one of the best hostels I have stayed in. Thanks

Singharat Guest House, Luang Prabang, Laos
9.1
6th Aug 2013

Great hospitality at Singharat! They brought us ice cold lemon juice on arrival! Room was beautiful and clean but a/c was not working. Staff gladly switched us to another room but a/c was still not as cold as we would have liked since we were paying more for it. Otherwise, the setting was lovely with a wonderful balcony. We ate the complimentary breakfast there which was great. Overall a great option in Luang Prabang if you want to be out of the center (10 min walk) and feel welcome!

Kikies House, Chiang Mai, Thailand
8.9
1st Aug 2013

Kikie' s was a nice base for our time in Chiang Mai. The rooms were clean and a/c was excellent! We loved the location - close enough to the main drag but on a quiet street near great cafes and restaurants. Marco and Kikie were helpful and always willing to answer questions. Beds were pretty hard but overall a nice stay.

Angkor Wonder Hostel, Siem Reap, Cambodia

21st Jul 2013

Very good location - close to markets and restaurants but a bit off the path. Rooms were clean and comfortable, although a little loud, but it is probably loud everywhere. Wifi worked great and air con rooms were awesome! Mr. Why Not and his family were always very friendly and ready to help. Great budget option for Siem Reap and visiting Ankor Wat.

HI-Sukhumvit, Bangkok, Thailand
9.4
19th Jul 2013

Excellent stay with HI Sukhumvit! Location was great - steps away from BTS, 20 min walk to Eastern bus station and Soi 38 street food right outside the door! Staff was so pleasant and helpful. Great common areas, especially the rooftop terrace. A relaxing atmosphere but social and easy to meet other travelers as well. Beds not the most comfortable but rooms were clean and bright. Would recommend to anyone!

30th Jun 2013

Ciak is a super friendly little place with all of the ammenities. Atmoshpere was great and great way to meet other travelers. Everything was clean and free Sangria (Sunday) and breakfast was really nice. Location close to the metro was really useful. Hairdryer was not working in the room but that is the only thing that was off. Thanks for a great stay in Roma!
