Vintage-style hostel with a homely feel - i.e. it's really just an old appartment in two floors that has been converted into a hostel. It has all the basic amenities but nothing out of the ordinary. Kitchen is functional. WiFi is functional. Doors are thin so isolation could be an issue but on the other hand it's not a party place. Staff is nice but often absent. Overall decent and very costworthy.
Excellent place! We stayed in one of their ensuite privates. Very clean, big room, very friendly staff. and a terrace for morning or evening chilling/meals. They also fix evening meals that you can sign up for. Excellent location, less than 100 m to the train station and 300 m from the very heart of town. The only possible downside I can find is that the breakfast was perhaps a little spartan - only toast, jam, cereals and tea - but on the other hand it wasn't limited. Highly recommended!
We stayed not at the hostel with dorms but at the the ones with privates on Rua Teofilo Braga 15. Very good location, 150 m from the bus station, 250 m from the train statin, and 200 m from the conter of town. It was good place, quite basic but pretty clean and with some basic amenities like fridge, tables & TV and so on. A little garden in the back where you can sit and have breakfast or just chill.
Good hostel with all the basic amenities, only 5 minutes walk from Tennoji station. Clean, in good shape and good staff. Recommended!
Nice and clean hostel with good amenities and helpful staff. Location may look like it's slightly off with regards to trains etc but it's actually quite good because communications are good and the area is lovely. Recommended!
Nice, relaxed and clean hostel with a central placement and an interesting ancillary business (dyeing). I have nothing bad to say. Absolutely loved the japanese style tatami dorm. Recommended!
Loved it. Great little place and the staff was way beyond great. Doumo sumimasen Kumi san! ;)
Good no-frills hostel with all the basic amenities. The only thing I'd hold against it is that there's a smoking room next to the common room and the smell of smoke spreads into the common room. It does vibrate little from the traffic but it's not very much, and sound isolation is excellent. Overall, good.
I really liked this place. Really calm and clean, and close to the main street and shops with things you might need. Staff was super helpful and kind. It's a pity there's no real kitchen but there's a common area with fridge, water boiler, and free coffe/tea, and with cup noodles you can get far. :) Somebody did "borrow" my flip flops on the last day, which was a little...weird...but I got them back so in the end all was well. Highly recommended!
Good, clean hostel with all the basic amenities and a whole lot of info on what to do in Fukuoka. Recommended!

Hostel with all the basic amenities and good location, with the monorail just around the corner and less than 10 min walking distance to both the harbour and the main street. Some areas are reserved for women only which is nice.
First of all, the main reason why this place is so much cheaper than many other is because it's a 10 minutes walk from the city centre, but if you don't want to be in the middle of where it's at and party hard all night it's not really a bad thing. It's a quiet area and they have a 23-7 silence policy. They pick you up and drop you off by car at the main bus station, even if you come/go with the early morning catamaran. Only 30 min internet per day is free but it seems to be flexible.
A very nice, clean and quiet place run by an absolutely lovely elderly couple who even gave us newly baked cookies the first day. :) Very close to everything and you'll still be able to duck the crowds. Very clean and tidy, they not only change the linens between guests but also mats, covers, and tableclots, so that everything matches neatly. Highly recommended!
We stayed 3 nights all in all over two occasions - 2 nights in the double bed/3 bed ensuite and 1 night in a double bed with shared bathroom. The ensuite room is nothing extraordinary but but it's quite big, and also has a fridge and a computer. Both places are clean and tidy, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The location can't be much better - just one block away from the East entrance of Diocletan's Palace and just a few minutes walk from the main bus station and ferry terminal. Good!

Standard hostel with basic amenities at an excellent location.
Good, small dorm hostel with basic amenities and very helpful staff. Well placed just around the corner from Nakatsu station on the Midosuji line, one stop away from Umeda/Osaka stn.
Great place! The staff are both kind and cool and they arrange events of different kinds. The place is perfectly placed close to the pier and thanks to the fact that it's on the mainland and not on the island helps keeping the prices lower. It's not really a problem since ferries run between the island and the mainland from eraly morning until evening.
Slightly overpriced for a place with concrete walls, but on the other hand the staff is very kind and helpful, and the guesthouse is perfectly situated, only one stop away from Umeda station and within walking distance of many of the city's atttractions.
No-frills hostel with all the basic neccessities, a good vibe, and an awesome host. If you're a party-goer the placement can hardly be matched - just next to Amerika Mura but not properly inside so you get away from the noise when (or if) you need to sleep.
