Its very good value for money and in a decent location... staff are also very friendly.... the atmosphere wasnt great whilst we were there because there were big groups of israelis, and they dont tend to socialise with others.

I know its a party hostel, but it seems to attract a small minority of people that act really stupid and aggresive.... Some of the staff were also rude because they expect you to eat/drink/do everything from the hostel, and if you ask for more information they just send you to their own travel agency.... not the most helpful.

Our booking was confused and we had to move room each day. We were told to move out of the room at 10am and our other room was still not available at 4pm..... which isn´t the best considering that its extremely hot in the middle of the day. Staff were also extremely rude when we wanted to pay by VISA (they say on hostelworld you can) and were talking about us in Spanish, which we can understand completely. The place is dirty, showers are cold and you have to wait a long time for showers. AVOID

This place is ok.... the beds are nice enough and the staff are pretty friendly. The kitchen was not very good when we were there (although some staff said they were getting a new one soon). The bad things were that the breakfast was terrible (didnt even have milk) and you have to pay if you want to cook after checking out- which is a bit unnecessary. Overall it was ok but not amazing

This is a really lovely hostel, and Omar is a great host and gives all the information required before leaving for Torres del Paine. The only issue was that once he got angry because we left the dishes to dry, which we thought was a bit unncessecary. Apart from that the experience was great and I think that he felt a bit bad after getting angry and made an extra effort too. Also, breakfast is absolutely amazing.

Just stayed for one night, the place was good, nice kitchen and a lot of space to socialise etc. The only problem that it is pretty far from the bus station if you are walking, and its 10 minutes walk into town.

This is a decent hostel in the city centre. We couldnt see the whales because it was towards the end of the season (we were there at the start of November) but its still nice to be near to the sea. The hostel is nice but the staff are a little bit strict about others coming in and other things like that. They also didnt know as much about the town as we expected. However the place is nice and these were minor things, so its was good overall.

Nice hostel, with everything that you need. The best thing about the place is that breakfast is really really good! Staff are very nice and chilled out, and its in a decent location in the city. Would definately go back as it is very good value (at least in low-season!)

This is a very nice hostel BUT it is very far out of the town. To town the bus takes about 30 minutes, and is not frequent (there are 1 or 2 per hour). The directions from the bus station are impossible to follow, meaning you will have to take a taxi. However... staff are very nice, and they also make homemade cake and other nice things. You can use the washing machine for free, and there is a nice chilled out atmosphere. If it was close to town this place would be great...

Good hostel, in a nice location in the city. The common areas are very big and the garden is nice. The rooms are big with very nice showers. The only bad points were that the wi-fi didnt always work, and the breakfast was fine, but not as good as other hostels in brazil!

This hostel is cheap but you really get what you pay for.... the 9 bed dorm is way too small, with three triple bunks in one very small room. Also, there are no comunal bathrooms or even toilets, so if you need to use bathroom you will have to wait for a very very long time if there are others showering etc. Breakfast and the communal areas are good, just the rooms are very bad.

This is a really nice hostel with great staff, great facilities and very good rooms. It´s in a relatively quiet area of Rio, but the area is a lot safer than other areas such as Lapa, so it depends what you prefer. The only bad thing about this place is that the bar is very expensive, so nobody is drinking there which makes it more difficult for socialising! Really smart and modern hostel though and the staff are really helpful and kind.

Really good hostel, right in the middle of Lapa meaning that you are right in the middle of the street parties and the bars in a really vibrant and fun area of Rio. The best thing about this hostel is that the bar is very cheap, and everybody can socialise and meet new people, which is great for going out etc. I would definately recommend this to solo travellers.

This is quite a good hostel, its a nice room with AC for a decent price. We were a couple so it was good for us, but solo travellers may find it hard to socialise because there is no common room and there isn't much atmosphere if you're keen to socialise etc. The staff are very enthusiastic and nice - they can tell you everything about the city which was nice. The only other problem was that the sheet for the double bed was very small, but thats all. Overall it was fairly good.

We arrived and they said the room we reserved online wasn't available.... we accepted to change room and they said that it would be the same price. The room had a nice bed, but there was a shower in the corner of the room which leeked onto the floor, and they didn't provide any towels. The shower was full of mould and hair - and hadn't been cleaned for weeks/months. Sheets dirty and air conditioner broken, and they tried to charge us extra for the room we didn't reserve when we left! -- AVOID --

This is a really good hostel! We came back to Sandakan after our Jungle trip and chose to stay here again. The rooms are a lot better than expected, good value for money and the showers are very good. There is a sofa area with TV and DVDs which is good because Sandakan isn't the most exciting city. Staff are nice and the place is very clean... would definitely recommend.

We just stayed here for one night because we needed to stay a night before going onto Mabul. This hostel is cheap but you get what you pay for, its not very nice, was very hot because the AC was broken in the dorm room, and sleeping on the bunk bed was very difficult - there was no ladder and the bed was very loud when moving! Would only recommend if you're on a very tight budget.

This was a very sociable hostel with nice and friendly staff giving lots of information about Pula. There is an amazing rooftop terrace with barbeque for the guests, which was great. The only problem with the hostel is that there is one bathroom shared between the dorms, and due to the high number of people, the bathroom floor was really dirty. Also there was no lock on the bathroom door.

We booked the wrong dates to stay at this hostel (completely our own fault) but when we arrived the staff at this hostel did everything possible for us, calling to find us an alternative hostel, giving us directions and maps, and giving us a shot of honey liquer. This hostel wasn't bad, and the majority of staff were great, however one member of staff was really pushy trying to organise our travel for multiple cities around Egypt, continually pressuring us and making it more and more difficult for us to just organise or get advice on our own travel. We eventually had to pay the hostel 30 dollars commision just to book two train tickets for us (a lot for egypt) because we didn't want to join their organised travel.
