Sleep in Heaven

Copenhagen, Denmark

Good hostel in cool area. Not super close to a Metro but otherwise no complaints.

Good party hostel. Fun in the bar every night with cool activities planned every day. Nice beds and quiet dorms from my experience. Food is cheap and really good. Not really any quiet common areas at night. In house tour agency is expensive. No wifi in rooms which is understandable in 500 year old fortress. Stay fit walking up the hill.

Wild Rover Backpackers

La Paz, Bolivia

Really good if a party is what you're after. Facilities are good, was under some construction during my stay but didnt disrupt sleeping. Food is cheap and decent. Bar is really fun, every night. Beds are good and easy to meet other travelers.

Sol Huasi

Salta, Argentina

Good hostel in cool old building. Friendly, helpful staff. Comfy beds. Some common areas not the cleanest. Free breakfast is pretty average.

Hostel Bambu

Foz do Iguacu, Brazil

Good hostel in Foz. Staff super helpful in planning falls visits and even booked my hostel on the other side. Great facilities. Dorm is clean and new looking. Free caparinha good and strong. English breakfast with beans and eggs, wasn't my cup of tea ;) Overall great!

Vila Madalena Hostel

Sao Paulo, Brazil

Great hostel. Large dorms, comfy beds and nice blankets. Friendly and knowledgable staff. Nice breakfast with toasties, fruit, cereal, baked goods. Great communal vibe. Sick location. No complaints

Paraty Beach Hostel

Paraty, Brazil

Nice location on the beach. Dorm is large, beds are comfy, individual mosquito nets. No fans in the dorm room. Common areas are nice, good included breakfast. Owner is friendly and helpful. Staff are otherwise aloof. There was construction during my stay (Oct 13.) Hostel was super empty when I was there, even over a weekend. No saturday BBQ due to lack of guests. Had a late bus and was told I was not allowed to hang around or use facilities which I found unusual for such a "laidback" place.

El Misti Hostel Ilha Grande

Ilha Grande, Brazil

Nice spot. Cheap if you book online, they try to charge more if you go in person. Staff are English speaking and friendly. Common area has a cool vibe, free Caparinha at check in. The free breakfast is really good. The worst part is the rooms. Dorms are TINY for 9 people. Triple bunks with very little floorspace. So crowded when people are trying to get ready at the same time. Not enough lockers inside the room though there are some in the hallway.

The Cranky Croc Hostel

Bogota, Colombia

Had a great stay here. Seems like the owner backpacked a lot and knows what little details are a real plus to travelers (big lockers with outlets and lights, personal reading lamps, separate shower/toilet.) Location good. Fast internet on free-to-use desktops but the wifi is pretty sluggish and inconsistent. Beds are comfy and dorm is spacious. There is currently construction in the morning (starts at 8) which is quite loud, so be forewarned.

Gaudys Backpackers Hostel

San Jose, Costa Rica

Hotel El Estadio

Hostel Che Playa

Playa del Carmen, Mexico

So fun. Such great, friendly staff. Comfy beds, somewhat tight dorm room but aircon so its not too stuffy. Would definitely recommend and wouldn't stay anywhere else in Playa del Carmen.

Hostel Amigo

Mexico City, Mexico

Great place near historic district. Great breakfast. Tour company inside. Good for meeting pther travelers. Fun bar with lots of tequila onhand. Lockers were outside rooms and I'd heard there were some break-ins to the lockers before I arrived, though I had no trouble myself
