The Babushka Grand Hostel

Very helpful staff, laid back hostel with a fun atmosphere. A big living room where people hang out and a nice kitchen where people often eat together, but nothing is forced on you, it is fine if you want to do your own thing and it is great if you want to join in. Overall it is a perfect hostel, one you hope to find upon your arrival

Though the staff is nice enough (I don' t expect great service in a hostel in Ukraine) the facilities are really bad, a toilet you cannot sit on if you are taller than 1,60m, two showers you can' t stand up straight in and where you have no privacy, a room that is literally the size of the bed where you have no room for your bags, where there are no curtains and which in general ist just really hot. Add to that the fact that I had to go to a different location after arriving at the hostel

The rooms definitely need some renovation, especially the hot water supply, but the rooms are cozy

The hostel itself was decent, I have seen cleaner rooms and less noisy places though. My main issue was the staff. Their main goal seemed to be to sell you overpriced tours. We did one of these tours hoping to get quality and no hassle as promised by the hostel. In fact it was a scam. The driver kept bringing us to shops which tried to sell us stuff very aggressively. When we refused to buy things they simply dropped us off at gizeh and told us they would not be our tourguide there.
