Wow I was certainly pleased I picked this hostel it was easy walking distance from Trindade station and was located at the north side of the city. Don't worry Porto is small enough that you can easily get around by walking just remember this place is at the top of a hill (city slopes up from the river) so don't buy too many bottles of Port... Several other people from other hostels also agreed that the TV/lounge area was far better than at their hostels, good spot to meet other travellers
I didn't really get to see much of this place I basically checked in, dropped my stuff off and went out to Khao San Road (Thai food) for some late dinner. The layout of the room was weird and sadly they had metal bunk beds that weren't the quietest to sleep in... There seemed to be a fairly active social scene in the main building but I stayed at one of the buildings next door number 48 I recall. The hostel is not the newest but does have a positive vibe about it
I really did like the old historical feel of this hostel, the rooms were nice and spacious and it had a real charm to it, the staff were super helpful and friendly in pointing out places to visit and tourist traps to avoid... they had good local knowledge of what was happening which was very much appreciated. Just be aware if you came to Portland to party then you have to be aware this hostel only allows drinking in the secret garden until 10pm.. upside location is brilliant!
I basically checked in after arriving via Amtrak, crashed out for a few hours got up and left for the airport by Uber so didn't really get to experience much of the hostel or the area. The hostel location seems to be near several interesting bars and clubs but was a bit far away from Pike Place Market (which I knew when I booked it) so just be aware if that is all you came to Seattle to see. Rooms were very nicely decorated and showers/toilets were spacious...
Aletto Kudamm Hostel was an interesting enough place, I think it's a very well located hostel right near the S+U Zoologischer Garten Station and walking distance to many tourist attractions. I did notice they had a large roof terrace but didn't see an obvious way to get there. The hostel rooms are in the basement which can mean they are a bit stuffy but good enough for a few days.
It's walking distance to the bus/train station and city center. They have recently upgraded their hotel rooms which are quite nice but they could improve some of the facilities such as I couldn't get the TV working in the dining area and the kitchen could do with some upgrades and new equipment for guests. The only negative was that the fire alarm went off several times at 3-4am and no staff were around to help with evacuations that needs to be addressed.
Such high hopes for this place, the building was brand new the bathrooms were 4 star hotel quality and the bunk beds were nice and solid. Why a terrible rating? 1) payment terminal not working which meant a 10-15 minute walk at night to find an ATM 2) over booked 2nd night which meant one girl in our room had to sleep on a spare mattress, 5 people 4 bed dorm 3) charged my credit card for deposit has not released the money so I paid extra, they are not helpful via email 4) wifi sux in rooms
Great location and good value for money, one of the nicer London hostels
the hostel changed ownership halfway through my stay, when I checked in the card machine didn't work so every time I had to go to my room I had to ask one of the staff to help. Was not impressed that ownership changed hands as I wasn't notified I would have changed hostels. The place is falling down so hopefully the new owners shut it down and do some much needed renovations.
great location but if you book a private room make sure you confirm they have normal beds and not 4 bunk beds...
The 4 bed bunk rooms are a little too small but good beds for a nice night's rest and there is a nearby sister hostel if you want to party all night long. I didn't really explore too much of the hostel just crashed for the night.
Was not the best hostel I stayed at and was a little disappointed that they didn't provide towels when booking a private room, I didn't pick the hostel for anything more than a place to sleep the night. Also a little expensive compared to other hostels I've stayed at and next time I'll probably just opt for a cheap hotel room.
Wow this place is simply epic you must consider staying here next time your visit Paris!
The new bathrooms they have built are amazing and looking forward to seeing how the place looks once they finished all the renovations, the location is simply brilliant! I was pleasantly surprised when I booked a private room and they had an Australian power adapter in my room as I booked with an Australian passport. What a brilliant fine touch and i'd stay here next time I'm visiting! If you visit make sure you do the "In Brugge" Walking Tour and their pub crawl it's brilliant!
Great location but painful that you have to goto the main hostel on the other side of the city first to checkin... also the 5th bunk being located in the attic was a little weird and not brilliant in summer as the air-conditioning struggled to reach that space.
What a great bunch of staff very helpful and impressed with how fast they could check me in, thanks for letting me charge my phone behind the desk.
It's one of the more unique hostels I have stayed at but what a great location and a wonderfully energetic group of people staying there.
The staff were great when I had to move rooms due to a somewhat weird and aggressive room mate, but there could have been more done to organise hostel events between guests staying there each night. The atmosphere was a little lacking but brilliant location! The hostel can certainly do with some renovations, while the beds are fine and brand new it's common areas, bathrooms and carpets that need to be replaced and the hostel could benefit from switching to swipe keys...
Would be great if they made more use of the rooftop area and allow drinking in the hostel
Wasn't impressed they didn't have our booking but we had a confirmation number, took a fair bit of discussions but they matched the original quoted price offered by HostelWorld
The hostel is quite modern compared to many of the other hotels in the area and the location can't be beaten!
This place is amazing, if I move to Boston i'd be happy to live here, you can't find a better place as it's just brand new and custom built thinking of you!
You cannot find a more central location if you want to stay in the old town
The staff were great also check out some of the awesome activities they offer such as tours and bbqs on the roof
The hostel was great, their staff were easy and relaxed, they provide awesome free food for guests each day that is awesome if you are travelling skint, the hostel beds are perfectly setup with private fans and privacy curtains
Such a great location if staying in San Fran, their lift is a bit ancient so always interesting experience but great bunch of staff and nearby to everything!
Their security worked sometimes a little too well, need to remember your swipe cards for shower/toilet access and stairwells... awkward moment when card fails and you have to stumble downstairs in your boxers to get card-reset... Amazing rooftop deck for drinks and relaxing!

richard was wonderful and helpful, and so close to the beach. nice and relaxing such a good place to unwind.
way too hot, the kitchen/eating area is like an oven, we had security cards that we had to carry with us, but we never used them. location was perfect thou, just across from the beach and you can sleep at night.
After speaking with friends who have lived in NYC, i decided on this location. Take the #6 into town. The area is much cheaper to eat. If you are thinking a 1/2 Star hotel i would chose this hostel, you're not at the Ritz paying $500/night... If you are really worried, its around $10-15 in a taxi from Times Square at night. Its a smaller quiet hostel and had no issues with guests.
Great to stay just walking distance outside the town, no noise at night, a/c & fans in rooms. Great showers and a nice area to relax by the pool. Thank you!
very friendly owners, 2 mins walk from the beach, very peaceful location, surrounded by cafes, resturants, bars, supermarket across the road. They provided local contact who was great for booking day trips. tahnk you for a great end to a holiday
great location to the beach, just a few minutes walk down the road, good place to relax, perfect for those wishing to have a surf holiday
Thank you for great friendly staff, and the hostel seems like a hotel, bathroom facilities were perfect! Breakfast times are good! Thank you
great location so close to the train station you almost walk past it
Looks like it is halfway thru renovation?
Thanks to Tim for taking us to a blackhawk hockey game that had the home team winning! $2 luggage storage was a little steep thou!
Could be a little bigger, it's great that it has it's own cinema and a roof top area with city views!
