Fantastic kitchen and great rooms (with bathrooms, tv, air conditioning). The guys who ran the place were great - always around to answer questions and often left goodies from the cafe next door in the kitchen for everyone. The location was great also - easy walk down to the waterfront or up into the downtown area.

Out of all the hostels I've stayed in in North America this was the worst. My partner and I booked a double room and got the "best room in the place" according to the girl on the desk. It was not the best room - we were given bunk beds (not something a double room should have), the curtains didn't go down the entire window meaning the orange street light shone in all night and we weren't allowed to wear shoes or have food in our rooms. The shower was awful - no hot water.

hey there, I honestly wish you would contact us for more clarification, as this seems to not describe us: We are by far the most central, and best situated hostel - with next closest hostel being over 1 mile from us and downtown DC. The room is listed as having 2 beds, and since EVERY room has a picture on our website and facebook, it's easy to tell what it looks like prior. Showers have non-stop hot water tank-less heaters... finally...no shoes, but you get FREE slippers to wear!

Good location for exploring the old town, decent breakfast buffet, very friendly staff and the room was very clean. Only improvement would be to have wifi in the rooms.

Lovely hostel thats more like a hotel. We were shocked to come back during our second day to find a maid cleaning our room and apologising for not having done the bathroom yet! The breakfast buffet was food although fruit would've been a nice addition. It was great that I could get laundry done ($11.50 for a whole bag and it came back washed, dried and folded). The staff were lovely and very helpful. Would definitely stay again.

THe Jail Hostel was a nice place to stay, and we got a large double room with plenty of space, plus a little kitchen. Only problem was that we'd booked a room with a private ensuite, and didn't get that - all we got was a shared bathroom down the hall.

Really great place - more like a hotel than a hostel. The free internet was really handy. The staff always happy to have a chat. Air con was awesome. Overall really enjoy my stay and would recommend this to anyone travelling to Nice.
