there is a problem with water supply. i went for 4 days without a shower. toilets were disgusting because could not flush them. the room was cold and unheated. In general well organised, but need to do more about th is water problem. We were given a 40% rebate due to the problem however.
Hi, thanks for leaving us a review. Indeed we had an issue with the water due to problems in the area, out of our control. Please accept our apologies, and we assure you this was outside and hopefully you will give us a chance again in the future.

kitchen for self catering is inadequate and food gets stolen. it is very clean, bathrooms in good working order, plenty of toilets, free tea and coffee, near tube and good security. nice part of London.

It was a pleasure to have you stay Cheers Spinner

staff lovely, very clean, my only concern is no heating in rooms in mid winter, and could be more CCTV and a bit better security.

great place to chill out for a few days. excellent value for money, however next time please remember the loo paper.
Dear Madam Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you did not receive our normal high service. After investigation it appears there was a fast turnaround of the room to allow you to check straightaway and the toilet paper was not replaced If we had known it was missing, we would have supplied the roll straight away. We hope you will give us the chance to serve you again and thank you for choosing us for your stay in London.

Facilities in need of repair, but found everyone to be good natured and helpful. a few young people a bit out of control, up all night.

Hostel 639 advertise free breakfast as part of the price. However, when i went for breakfast the first morning i was told i must pay extra. I had to pay £1.50 for a continental breakfast of cerealtoast, juice and coffee. Admittedly this is not much, but it is a breach if trading standards. It is false advertising.

not enough showers for women in particular, toilets sometimes dirty, some drug dealing in dorms. Lots of thefts of phones etc.

There was an ongoing problem with the lift, which meant climbing 5 flights of stairs from breakfast room to dorm. there were no amenities in the kitchen for cooking or heating personal food stuff. Staff were courteous and helpful.

breakfast is separate and expensive, although good choice. there are no lifts. The building is old and some repairs are needed
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We leave breakfast as a separate option for those guests who wish to purchase it, which allows us to keep our bed prices to a minimum. It is good to point out that being located in a historical listed building, we are not allowed to have a lift, but repairs take place as needed. YHA London St. Paul's Duty Manager

I found the staff helpful and pleasant. I was fortunate enough to get a special offer which was excellent value for mon ey, given that there were two meals per day included. however, no fruit, eggs, or juice for breakfast. Evening meal was quite basic and made no allowance for vegetarianism or any other nutritional needs.

This hostel has the potential to be an excellent facility if the owners put in time and money on refurbishment as it is completely run down. Nothing has been done since the YWCA owned it and furnished it 20 years ago.
