Our dorm was in a separate building about 40 m away form the hostel with no reception or staff. Small beds, no lockers(!) and etremely crowded dorm with 60 cm space between the beds. No hot water in the kitchen. Only one smelly bathroom for 6 rooms. Fit-out and furniture looks worn. The only staff we met is the cleaning lady coming at 7:30 - great timing. Advantages: fantastic location in the old town, free car park, plenty of pubs and a supermarket in the nearby.

Perfect place in the city centre! Comfortable "double-decker" beds, proper size steel lockers, large and well equiped kitchen, common room with lots of board games. Really helpful, english speaking staff. Supermarket, pubs and a university canteen with local food for good price in 2 minutes distance. Disadvantages: car parking is expensive in the street (8-20, Mo-Sa, 3 LTL/h) and the pianino in the common room needs a bit tuning :o) I can recommend even for a longer stay.

Folk Hostel

The hostel is facing to the main pedestrian precinct of the city with its all benefits and shortcomings. We were OK with the street-noise also by opened windows. It was a bit tricky finding the entrance as it opens from the street behind. Cars can be also parked there for a reasonable rate (1PLN/hour). Beds are good, sanitary rooms are sufficient. There is only one dining table in the kitchen - it might be busy. I can recommend the place.

It is definitely a motorway hostel, about 6 km far from the downtown. There is a tram line in front of the hostel but the place is rather for people travelling by car. Rooms are small but tidy, hygenie is correct. Breakfast is available in the hostel for reasonable extra cost. Staff are helpful and speak English. All in all, it is a good place to overnight - I can recommend it.

Jakelj Backpackers House

We wanted to overnight somewhere close to Bled during the Rowing World Chanpionship and Niko's house was perfect for it. They are under reconstruction till spring 2012, what puts marks on the services: cleaning and tidynes are not perfect these days. Niko is a great guy who really makes his best for the guests. Location is good if you are by car or bike - it's about 8 km from Bled centre. You cannot pay by card and there is no ATM in the nearby! It is an OK one-star place - do not expect more.

About 15 minutes walk from Zwinger, close to river Elba. Nice internal yard and closed car park. Unfortunatelly, staff does not really speak English. New beds but mattresses are too slim - so you will feel each steel stiffener in your back. (My bed was really terrible I rather put the mat on the floor.) Buffet breakfast costs 8 EUR, seems to be expensive in a hostel. No tea kithchen is available.

Good location - 5 minutes from centre. Nice and helpful staff. Tidy and comfortable common bathroom, however using shower curtains instead of partitions separating shower boxes is not usual. Common kitchen on the ground floor - we found all equipment needed. IKEA beds with good mattresses. Big lockers in the dorms. Alltogether it is to recommend for everyone.
