Fantastic hostel in the old part of town; brilliant attic rooms, comfy bed, large kitchen area and large lounge to socialise, plenty of power outlets in the rooms. Lovely place
There's no point comparing this place to hostels, as it is a hotel and they are completely different. As a budget HOTEL, this place was very nice. I knew not to expect a lively place to meet people, common areas etc They provided a very basic room, with a sink, wardrobe, table, chairs, bed etc. The bathroom was always clean, as was the room. The staff were very friendly (i had read some negative reviews, but they were perfectly nice to me). Two mins from the station. Major downside: NO AIR CON
Fantastic facilities- a kitchen with fridges, dining area, common area (upstairs part of hostel), and amazing location in the centre of Florence. Free sangria on the weekends, and free pasta sometimes during the week. A great place to meet people. However, the staff are very hit and miss- being super (too?) nice one minute, and accusative and cold the next. Also- LOCK OUT between 10am and 5pm. ALL DAY. Not many plug sockets, small issue. HARD TO FIND- go left out of the station, THEN right.
Great location next to the train station, in a safe neighbourhood. Rooms had plenty of sockets, and nice beds. Air con was fantastic. Free city map and some useful info. Good to meet new people. Lockers are slightly unusual but work once you figure them out. Luggage store etc. Don't bother with the breakfast - four euro for dry bread and an orange juice. Could be more social activities, and a little cheaper- other than that, nice place.
A very smart modern hostel more like a hotel! Super clean and with great facilities: free Internet, computers free to use, luggage hold, SO MUCH roof space at the bar. Rooms are great: big, lockers, plug sockets etc also only a five minute walk to the beach and a ten minute walk from the train station. Free breakfast which is really good- pastries, cereal, coffee etc a fantastic stay- I definitely recommend!
Really lovely hostel. Staff always willing to help and quite fun. Great location overlooking positano. Has a balcony which works well for meeting new people, very close to the bus stop and little shops. A really individual proper hostel. Only semi- negative things are if you are lockers are quite small and you pay for breakfast. Also, a little advise: €10 per drink at the club they sometimes take you to- drink before! Definitely stay at this hostel
Not such a great hostel for the price. No lockers, only little deposit boxes that need to be paid for. Very small room with only two showers and two toilets for the whole floor. Wifi doesn't work all the time, breakfast is very poor. No kitchen facilities or much character. HOWEVER, the staff are very helpful and are an asset to the hostel! Location is very close to the station which makes travel to Pompeii and other places very simple.
Nice hostel. PROS: good location, great breakfast, lockers massive and outside the room so don't get woken in the night, very helpful staff, free wifi. NEG: bathrooms could be a little cleaner but otherwise a fantastic hostel!
Really great hostel, good breakfast, friendly staff, common area to meet plenty of people
PROS: really good price for the location- very easy to get into Venice and a lot more space, fantastic facilities- bathrooms showers pool etc kept very clean and very nice, staff helpful, easy to find. NEG: charged unnecessary and surprise tourist tax on top of base rate.
PROS: good location, spacious dorms, lots of city info. NEG: lockers limited and not very big, bathrooms not very clean, but lovey hostel for one or two nights.
PROS: location easy to get to, relatively cheap, common area, roof terrace. NEG: incredibly small room! Very hot, security not great (room door shut very reluctantly), staff a little pushy.
PROS: nice location in safe area, good bar and areas for meeting people, big rooms, helpful staff. NEG: lockers after checkout cost money
PROS: Pretty much everything. Nice rooms, quite clean, great location, friendly (and good looking) staff, relaxed atmosphere, 24 hour entry, pool table, good security, a busy bar and really large kitchen, easy place to meet people, showers are good (hot water!), generally a great place to stay. NEG: The rooms are a little expensive, as are the drinks at the bar, and luggage hold after check out isn't free.
PROS: Friendly staff, great place to meet new people- especially in the common room downstairs, nice kitchen and layout. The rooms are fantastic (I stayed in the Boardroom)- they're very clean/spacious/ and unique- more like a hotel than a hostel. Good facilities and always something local going on. Showers are good too. NEG: Quite far from central station (two different metro journeys needed).
PROS: Fantastic location in the centre of Bruges, friendly staff, great bar at night which sees locals and travellers alike, very good free breakfast, nice spacious rooms, lockers were outside the rooms which was great as it meant those leaving early in the morning didn't wake everyone else up with packing, free Bruges discount cards, great to meet new people, lots going on in the city in general. NEG: Showers are a little far away from the rooms and have curtains instead of locking doors.
PROS: close to the station, showers are pretty good, lockers in the rooms and 24 hours door, security's is good too. NEG: The room I was in was unbelievably hot at night as the window never opened fully, the showers although clean and with hot water smelled bad due to the drains, the common room was locked at about 11pm until 7am so there was no place to meet people in the evenings or hang out & was also quite expensive for the limited amount that you got, although Brussels in an expensive city.
PROS: Since i last stayed most problems such as flooding showers had been fixed and the bar downstairs improved. Free pool table until 5pm, decent free breakfast, fantastic location near both the train station and coach station. Always something going on. Relatively clean and has 24 hour reception. NEG: The Staff who work there aren't overly friendly, a little too big to have a good atmosphere, quite pricey.
PROS: brilliant location, very cheap, free breakfast, good security, decent rooms. NEG: rude staff, showers flood, absolutely no character- the hostel's run as a hotel with a business approach rather than a committed approach, pool table broken, have to pay for all extras including luggage hold, no atmosphere. good for stopping over for one or two nights but no more.
PROS: nice hostel, great location just off neumarkt, good price, free breakfast, brilliant courtyard area, friendly staff, CONS: rooms pretty crowded, showers a little grotty, no plug sockets in rooms. Definitely a good budget hostel, not so great if you're after adventure but the 24 hour reception lets you find that pretty easily. Really nice people working there.
PROS: This hostel is brilliant. Safe, clean, perfect location, friendly staff, large showers, good dorms, amazing lounge area on the top floor, free wifi etc. The hostel has such good character; the whole place is decorated with art and is individual. Very cheap too, stayed in an 18 bed dorm expecting it to be pretty grim with so many people but really it was fine. I would definitely recommend Art Roch- it's by far the best hostel I've stayed in. NEG: Absolutely nothing bad to say.
PROS: Location is fantastic- opposite natural history museum right in city centre. Friendly staff, clean and safe. NEG: have to pay for hot water for drinks, not enough lockers, no free breakfast, tiny showers.
