Uenuku lodge

We chose this hostel as the picture of the room on Hostel World looked almost like a hotel (crisp clean linen and stylish furniture). We were disappointed with our room because although we paid over $60 for a private superior room, it was shabby and in need of updating. The bed however was clean and very comfortable. The hostel was mostly very quiet apart from some very loud plumbing noises every time someone used the toilet next to our room which was quite annoying. The kitchen is also small.

Ban Sabai Hostel

Was a lovely clean room with a comfortable bed. The staff were very helpful and ordered us a taxi for 4am in the morning. Would have been nice to know that the pool was being mended though as this was one of the reasons why we chose this hostel over another one that was closer to the airport.

Seaside Cottages

Phuket, Thailand
91%

We chose Seaside cottages as we wanted a quiet place to stay for a few days near the airport before flying to Bangkok. Seaside cottages is in a lovely peaceful location right on the beach about 17km from the Airport. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and the beds are comfortable, there is also a reasonably priced restaurant. Next door but one is the Holiday Inn which will let you use their lovely pool if you buy a drink.

Tanamas House

Phuket, Thailand

We needed a place to stay near the airport that was clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. Tanamas house filled the bill. We were very happy with the room, the bed was very comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. It s around 3km from the airport so just a short taxi ride and a welcome place to relax after a long haul flight. Not really a downtown Phuket location with all the bars etc.. but there is a bar nearby, a restaurant and a 7/11.

Great hostel, will be staying here again! Very clean, new kitchen and bathroom facilities.Very comfortable beds with duvet and sheets provided. Free WiFi and breakfast of eggs, ham, toast and cereal. The walk into town takes 10 minutes and there is a free local bus just outside the hostel to take you into town or back to the K road if you need it. The staff are more than helpful and very friendly and there is a covered patio area outside which is good for socialising. Highly recommended!

Orange Village Hostel

San Francisco, USA

Orange village hostel was in a good location close to the centre of town. The $300 security deposit was ridiculous - we have never been asked for this kind of deposit at any other hostel or hotel. The alternative was leaving behind a copy of our credit card so we could be billed later for any additional charges!!! Not cool. Staff were unhelpful at breakfast when the waffle mix ran out. Staff generally seemed to be working for a reduction in rent so the motivation wasn't there.
