Walk On The Beach Hostel

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

This hotel has a great vibe. It's an old house converted into a hostel so naturally some rooms are small. But it has a homely feel to it too. It's very social, you have no choice but to mingle in the close quarters. The bar is small but fun. The beds are of average comfort. If you're looking for a hostel with decent atmosphere, great location, and generally a nice place to stay - then this is it.

I can't say anything bad about this place. In fact, of all the hostels i have stayed this is my favourite. I have been here for over 2 weeks now. People book for 2-3 nights, but they always extend. The location is unbeatable. The view is excellent. The beds are comfortable. The food is of a quality unexpected for a hostel. 5 nights a week a home cooked meal is served. This allows everyone to mingle and drink at the bar which makes for a great atmosphere. Lastly, the staff are amazing. Cheers!

Can't beat the location. It's directly in front of the beach. The beach doesn't receive any surf, but its very pleasant to observe the horizon and the fishing boats. The sunsets here are beautiful and there is a large area to chill out and enjoy them. The hostel is also right in the middle of the town centre, so amenities, entertainment and food are very close. I had a very enjoyable stay here. Great breakfast, cool staff, decent dorms.

Quite a small place, not much room to hang around. Average facilities and atmosphere. There's better hostels than this in Rio. In my opinion, Leblon is far nicer than Copacabana. The beach is better, the surroundings are nicer, the people are sexier, it feels safer.

Iguassu Guest House

This hostel had the potential to be one of those hostels that stands out in your memory. It had everything that makes a good hostel great: excellent amenities, good location, great staff, nice pool, bar, functioning internet, decent breakfast, spacious and secure. The only thing it lacked was guests and consequently there wasn't much atmosphere. However, this seemed to be a trend of the area, and not a fault of the hostel. I would return here for sure. A comfortable stay. Sexy owner too :)
