The staff were really friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was good and drinks in the bar were discounted. Towels and hairdryers can be borrowed free. Location excellent, very central, ideal for sightseeing, many places accessible on foot. Being 5 mins from Waterloo station made it noisy but I had my earplugs! (also offered at reception if required). My bunk was quite comfy and the showers were hot. More loos and washbasins would be good, otherwise great!

The atmosphere was not very welcoming and the man on reception was cold and unfriendly. Possibly better if you're travelling in a group. This hostel really needs a communal area with tea making facilities, cushions etc to cheer things up a bit. Overall very gloomy and quite creepy late at night! On the plus side, the location is excellent for visiting the mediaeval city, and the dorm and bathrooms were clean. Wouldn't go back there though and wouldn't recommend it, esp. to solo travellers.
