Caernarfon, Wales

Lovely modern hostel, the Townhouse had a kitchen to use and shared bathroom is between two bedrooms. Breakfast is cereal&toast. The only problem was when we arrived there was no one there! The owner thought our ETA was 11am and we didn't arrive until 2pm. In my experience if the hostel is one without full time staff I have been emailed before to check my ETA. They didn't have my mobile (even though its on my account!?) & he had my email, he didn't say sorry just "I can't hang around all day".

YHA Conwy

Conwy, Wales

The rooms were old and pretty disgusting, with hairs etc on the bed. It was cheap but after you pay £5 for your breakfast (which was cold eggs and bacon) it is probably better to go elsewhere with breakfast included as wouldn't be much more. We booked late so here was the only available place.

Lybeer Travellers' Hostel

Bruges, Belgium

This hostel is having loads of building work done at the moment, so the room was brand new and lovely but the rest of the hostel is a bomb site with wires sticking out of the wall etc. Nothing was said before we left and no explanation when we arrived. No wifi in rooms at the moment due to works.

Hi, you really believe that any cable that is not connected is dangerous to you :)))))) they are not live wires, they are just there waiting for the lightbulbs to be installed. It is not dangerous at all!! Enjoy your travels

Duquesa Plaza

Granada, Spain

Good to have access to the kitchen. Breakfast was average, bread and jam and coffee and piece of fruit.

Pension Virgen de la Luz

Seville, Spain

Really nice, good location and really helpful staff. Use of the kitchen would be nice though.

Very cheap with everything you need. Basic room but ok. Fairly clean. The area is a bit dodgy but so close to the centre and honestly not that bad.

Herodotos Studios

Zakynthos, Greece

Really cheap and nice for the money. No wifi in rooms was a downside, we travelled for 3 weeks and everywhere else had this. Also when we arrived they didn't even know we were coming and so didn't have our room ready so we didn't get into the room until 10pm!

Hotel Sant'Ercolano

Perugia, Italy

ok hotel - breakfast was ok but you have to pay extra and I think its a bit overpriced. We arrived at about 8pm and our room wasn't ready so we had to wait about 30mins for them to clean it.

Hotel Mirabeau

Brussels, Belgium

The room had a window that literally looked into a wall 1m away! Hot and the corridors were old, still undergoing renovation. Friendly staff though and good breakfast.

Magnolia Porto Hostel

Porto, Portugal

Really nice double room at the top of the building. Good view. Kitchen was a bit small but handy.

Amazing hostel/guesthouse, great value for money, the room was huge, clean and lovely, really nice breakfast, bacon and eggs etc! The only downside was that when we arrived we were not allowed to leave our bags as we were too early for 2pm check in.

Hotel Sol Algarve

Excellent for the price and Albino was very helpful. As soon as we arrived he showed us where to go on a map and how to get there. Would choose again.
