This hostel really ticks all the boxes. The staff welcome you like old friends and introduce you to everyone and anyone in the social areas whenever they see you alone. The rooms are spotless (and the bathrooms also); far enough away from the bar to be quiet and places to chill and get a good night's rest. The 4 bed dorm got pretty damp at the top of the building, so I'd recommend staying in the five. I was moved down a floor without any qualms, and slept like a baby for the duration!

The best way to experience real Almsterdam. It got a bit hot downstairs during the heatwave and is pretty basic, but there was an air conditioner which worked and everything was super clean. Slightly undercooked eggs but whatever! Sunset from the deck and help yourself to beers for 2euros... I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Really well maintained, comfiest bed in a hostel ever! Cute cat and nice TV room. Downers, the movies are all pirate so appalling quality and there is no kitchen or fridge. Otherwise, lovely place and great location.

On paper, this hostel has it all. Personally for me, there are too many 18-25s drunk in the pool, wailing and doing body shots all over the place. Don't get me wrong; The hostel is beautiful, the food is great and the place is very well run with great customer service. Just know what you're after: if it's a wild, Frat Party/ British Union night thing, then this is the place for you... if it's more of a chill on the beach kind of affair, head down to Misfit. Loki is LOCO and that's the fact.

Best hostel in mancora! Great chilled atmosphere, hammocks, dogs, generous croissant supply, yummy maracuya sours and the beach as your back garden. Another great perk is that no backpackers work here so you can be sure of amazing customer service and no twit hopping around drunk or high thinking he's amazing and neglecting to serve you.
Thanks for your feedback and more importantly that you came back! If you ever come back to Mancora you know where to find us. Much love the Misfits x

Great spot, right on the beach. The breakfasts were scrummy although some days you got heaps and other days not so much!! I stayed in the 4 bed dorm and it was great as it was only me... there are no lockers otherwise so be aware of that. Really cool terrace as well... easily more laid back than some of the other surf hostels around. I'd recommend it.

Beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms, super clean and boiling hot, 100% unscummy showers. Beds are comfy and the layout of the hostel makes it a very social place. There is limited kitchen equipment and fridge space but from what I understand this is still a work in progress so let's be patient. Superb place to stay, i've come back 3 times. Lovely staff too!

Amazing place to recharge. Fantastic living room with a huge tv and great selection of movies. Plenty of couches for everyone to sit and watch together. Adorable kitten, generous breakfast, super clean rooms and bathrooms, lovely garden, central location, friendly staff... What more could you ask for? Oh yeah! 4 bed form has a huge dressing room for all those bags. Winner!

The hostel is still being modified and coming along beautifully but the lack of soft furnishings and decoration give it a bit of a sad atmosphere. That said, everything is brand new and super clean. The staff are lovely and super helpful. At the moment though, no lockers, the doors don't quite fit and in the girls dorm the toilet is too close to the wall so you can only perch on it sideways. In 6 months I think it'll be the place to stay in Puno!!

Great energy in this place. Lovely staff and comfy beds. The bar is great for hanging out and meeting people and the daily free beer is a winner. The water temperature in the girls dorm was a bit hit and miss but the main bathrooms had great hot water. Sadly I got ferocious food poisoning from an omlette here but I was the only one so I think it was a one off. Would come back anytime if I were in La Paz again.
Hello, we appreciate your review mentioning the nice things about our hostel. Sorry about your illness, as you mention our breakfast omelets are fresh made. We will wait for your comeback !

Lovely place to kick back for a few days. Nice to be out of town but it is a fair walk to the basic amenities. Kitchen is a bit to small for the number of guests but there is a great vibe and lovely atmosphere.

Beautiful hostel, like a home. I felt so welcome and the ladies who run the place are super kind, helpful and sweet. I felt like family! This is the cleanest hostel I´ve ever stayed in and it looks and smells amazing. Breakfast is lovely and served on pretty trays. Literally, CANNOT fault the place. Exceptional.”

Nice house with comfy beds. Not must space for a communal area so everyone is on top of each other which is a shame. Would be a great place to stay if you are a group and can fill a room. Great location and very friendly, helpful staff. The noise is supposed to finish at 1200 as the house is so echoy but when I was there this rule was not adhered to which was pretty annoying tbh.

Such accommodating staff. Super helpful and friendly. The decor isn't perhaps as warm as some other hostels but it is so clean and easy to just live here I extended at least twice! Very fast WiFi and drinks available to buy makes it really easy to have an impromptu session with other guests. I'd go back to this hostel anytime! Thanks for a great stay!

This hostel rocks. Gato Mambo provides extraordinary music at the bar and the ambience both night and day is fab. All of the staff are fab, amusing and helpful. The dorm which backs onto the reception is super hot so try to avoid it. The four bed is the best as it's furthest from the noise. The hostel is the beautiful and calm sister of Casa Roja where you can go for a great swim and party. I ended up coming back to this hostel and extending by about 8 nights. I LOVE PRINCESA INSOLENTE!!! x

Great vibes, very quiet when I was there but I had a blast anyway. So easy to be friends with all the guests as there is no wi-fi. Basic hostel but with a lovely atmosphere.

Staff are changing so it's only worth noting stuff to do with the building. Very clean, nice and comfy, good lockers. Dorm is good but the sloping rooves make fore sore elbows in the night. Showers are hot. The place is a bit run down but has a great fire. It's BASIC and the kitchen is small but it gives you everything you need.

Lovely spacious, clean rooms. Great big lockers for entire back pack. Good hot showers and breakfast. A little pricey but probably worth the money.

Great staff, lovely hot showers. Could only be improved by the addition of lockers. Absolutely loved my stay! Bed felt a bit like it might have collapsed but luckily I'm small and me and the guy underneath survived!

Loved this place, loved the awesome Andres who runs it too; so helpful and hilarious.Great vibes and loads of in hostel entertainment. Parties are easy here so it's worth noting if you want a silent night it may not be for you as the dorm backs onto the communal space. It rained EVERYDAY I was there but being at the hostel made it OK. Andres went to every extent to show us a good time regardless and I'd go back in a shot.

A girl I was travelling with got bed bugs. It totally ruined her holiday. The lady on the desk was nice and helpful but the guy in the evening barely looked up from his pc and seemed really irritated by questions from his guests. There was a polaver with the only air con remote going missing too. On the whole, my experience here was below par. I do not recommend it I'm afraid.

Mr Yamamoto is very patient and goes the extra mile for his guests. He seems to always be driving about and offers tea and coffee free of charge. There are beers in the fridge you can buy for almost cost price. NB: This hostel is not your typical hostel. The only wash basin in the dorm house is the kitchen sink and unfortunately the shower room is in the main house. That said, the bedroom was very clean the bed very comfortable but it was pretty glacial in December despite two heaters.

Amazing staff and fantastic bar! I got hugs from all the staff when I left and to their goodbye and "arigato!" chorus I nearly welled up. They went the extra mile in every way and the food and drinks menu is really brilliant. Just be careful you don't fall over the random tree trunks and be prepared for a dented futon. Bit of a young crowd (18-21s) at times which was a bit wearing but otherwise amazing bar which is open later than others in the area! WIN!

Super clean, amazing rooms and amazing bathrooms. The 10 bed dorm felt like a 6 bed thanks to the layout and the brilliant curtains over each bed to give you privacy. Best hostel I've stayed in for yonks! And free lockers :) what a win.

Lot's of fun with a sociable bar downstairs. Lovely staff and good location. The aircon in the $4 dorm doesn't really do it's job so if you don't like being hot upgrade to $6 and that one is freezing!

The dorm room is lovely and kitted out really well but it's very small and I couldn't cope with sleeping so close to blokes I didn't know. It would be ideal to book with friends. The staff are fabulous and the pool is nice. There is a great outdoor space to chill and the location is great. The dorm room doesn't lock but there is a small safe in the room and you can keep bigger valuables in the office.

Brilliant place to stay. Super social, pool and flying trapeze right outside, on the main strip, super cheap, brilliant air-con and lockers. The bathroom situation is a bit shabby and it's flipping hot there as there are no fans and the only fridge is broken... but other than that, I'd recommend it to anyone.

Everything about this hostel is awesome. It's 5 mins from the tube station, 10 mins to MBK, 80 baht to Koh San Road in a cab, air conditioned and situated in a really quaint authentic Thai backstreet. Joy, literally is a joy and I will be staying with her every time I visit Bangkok. Thank you for everything and see you soon!!
