Blue Clouds Hotel

Hoi An, Vietnam

Our stay in HoiAn was that much more amazing because of our stay in this wonderful welcoming homestay. On our arrival we were welcomed with fresh lemonade. Our room was fantastic! It literally shone with cleanliness. We only booked one night and there were no more rooms available next day, so the owner of Blue Skies, organized a wonderful room in another homestay for us and he also took us there with our bags on his moped. He also have us local sweets and fruits to try during local celebration.

It's a well hidden away hostel so you have to follow their directions from the hostelworld confirmation email to find them. But that seclusion makes it a nice and quite place for sleep. One of the disadvantages of many hostels on that area is the absence of windows in rooms because the buildings are stacked wall to wall in narrow alleys. So our room had no windows and ( that's another minus) it had a one single cockroach co-habiting with us in the bathroom... The staff is very helpful otherwise.

European Guesthouse

It was a nice clean hostel with dorms on the first floor and private rooms ( where we stayed) on the second. There is also a small bar and restaurant downstairs, but we didn't really enjoy our food ( to be fair we weren't even charged for it because we complained about the quality). Overall nice value for money but not majority different than any other hostel/homestay on that alley ( it's literally packed with homestays)

Nice and clean hostel. The best thing is that they pick you up from the central bus stop where all the grayhound buses stop. They also have push bikes for rent and the bike path is right in front of the entrance.

The hostel is located right in front of grethound bus stop. They serve breakfast in the morning and organize sunset tours up the hill ( the best sunset you'll ever see! Definitely recommended)

Dolphins Beach House

This hostel would be my absolute favorite because of great location, cool atmosphere, pink walls, cute kitchenettes, free surf board rentals and great surf boarding lessons, but the staff made the experience so much less pleasant. There were two girls on reception who constantly looked as if you are taking away their valuable time. Rarely saw them smiling or being friendly. Well ok maybe for the 3 days we were they both of them had bad days. But still.

It's a huge ( almost labyrinth like) hostel walking distance to the cbd area. The main lobby is always busy and had a distinctive backpacking vibe. In the evenings there are pool games and movies shown in the big common room. Very chilled out and relaxed hostel.

Landing Pads Brunswick

Landing pads is a great hostel with only about 20 residents. And it feels more like home than hostel. Most of the guests stay here long term so you get to know them better. Matt the manager is a great guy. We had a great bbq party organized by him for all of us on the Christmas day which made this place feel even more like home:) There is free WiFi at the hostel that works fast and smooth even from the backyard. The area around is great too. Tons of cute little cafes and restaurants.

the only thing that annoyed us is when we arrived there was noone at the front desk and the front door was closed. so we ringed the door few times and noone responded. then we called to the hostel and noone picked up. we ringed at the door again and had to wait for 5-10min before the front desk attendant finally rushed to open the door for us.

it's a very cozy housestay-like hostel with huge rooms that have kitchens. very friendly staff. free Wi-Fi and a computer with internet available. It's not located in Boston (as you can easily find through google maps) it's located in Allstone close to Cambridge and 40min away from Boston on a subway. All in all - very good quality for the price and a great location if you're planning to visit Harvard campus along with Boston city!
