I stayed in a mixed dorm with attached bathroom. The bathroom was huge. The Wifi connection was very weak. The staff was very friendly, I booked the Mutianyu Great Wall Tour and like it very much (although I generally dislike group tours). The food in the restaurant was yummy (try the Spaghetti with basil pesto), but I think there were not enough choices vor Vegetarians. The location is conveniently close to the MRT and in a traditional Hutong alley, nice!

There are not enough bathrooms. Shower/toilet are combined, and there are only 12 for more than 100(!) beds. Free breakfast, which was nice. Staff was very friendly to me. Location is close to MRT (line to the Airport) and supermarket. Walking distance to Little India. Wifi was working well most of the time.

Staff was helpful and nice. This is a place for young people on a gap year, who can't clean up after themselves and like to get drunk all the time. Thus, we didn't like the atmosphere. The location is nice, beautiful surrounding. We came to this place to wind down and relax (although w/o taking drugs, getting drunk) and this was just not possible. It was so loud, especially in the evenings, and since it's all open huts, there is no protection against noise. There were some strange guests there.

Very relaxed place, nice A/C in the dorm room. Showers and toilets separate, 4 each (for two dorm rooms). Wifi was strong, staff very nice. Location inside the City Square. Turn left and visit the Birds Nest Cafe for breakfast or lunch. Amazing place with extremely good food. Songtheaw (red taxi) to/from train station and bus station is 50 Baht per person. If you want to chill out, this is the place for you. If you want to meet lots of other travelers, maybe not. Very quiet now in low season.

I love this place! I extended my stay and I was not the only guest doing that. Also have a booking for when I return to Bangkok. I tried 3 other hostels in Bangkok and this is my favorite. The location is very good, it's a place with personality and character and not just a big chain hostel. It's not a place for 18-year old backpackers who want to party and get drunk (the hostel doesn't have a bar), which I like. I met some really nice guests there and the staff is so nice and friendly.

One Stop Hostel

Good Location, close to some bus stops (Giant Ibis for example). Good Wifi. Some restaurants around. Almost opposite the riverfront, but if you book the 4 bed dorm, it doesn't have a window so you can't see the nice view. No bar in-house and there was a lack of atmosphere. It's ok to stay there, but for a more lively scene, I would recommend other hostels in Phnom Penh. If you're just looking for a quiet place conveniently close to Giant Ibis, this is a good choice.

The Led Zephyr

Sihanoukville, Cambodia

The toilets in front of the AC dorm were quite dirty most of the time and many guests at this place haven't heard about how to use a toilet (hint: you're supposed to FLUSH after using it), I assume this is because Sihanoukville attracts a very weird crowd of people. The Western staff was very helpful, the Khmer staff was quite slow. Wifi connection is not very strong. Location is excellent, just a short walk down the street to the beach and pier (for the boats to Koh Rong).

Definitely recommend to stay here. Great staff, nice vibe, yummy food. The only downside is the temperature in the bedrooms, other than that it's a good place to stay. Lots of fans downstairs to cool you down. Lots of chill out places, including rooftop.

Definitely recommend! Great air-conditioning, 5 min walk to center/pub street, pool, cinema (3 movies a day), yoga classes for 5$, comfy beds, big lockers. The shower and toilet are separate. Wifi worked great. You can just get lost at this place, I stayed for 6 nights and could have stayed even longer. Relaxed atmosphere.

Good location (walking distance to Royal Palace), strong Wifi, good beds. The dorm rooms can be quite dark, a reading light for each bed would be perfect. Associated TukTuk drivers were nice and gave us good prices. I thought the food was a little expensive, coffee as well and not very good. Go to one ore the countless nice cafes if you want to get coffee. On the other hand, happy hour was great with cheap cocktails. The staff was very friendly and sweet.

Lub d Bangkok Silom

Only stayed for a night, but had a good stay. Female dorms are spacious. Wifi connection is OK. The bathrooms were good, but not so clean as in the LubD Siam (although this is the fault of other guests who don't understand you cannot throw toilet paper in the toilet...). Also, shampoo and soap was missing in the showers which the other LubD provides. Concerning location, i prefer LubD Siam, other than that the value-for-money is better at LubD Silom. Both places need more breakfast choices.

I had a great stay, the staff was really nice and helpful. The walls of the rooms are made of wood and are quite thin, so if you're a light sleeper you might have problems. If you use Ohropax, you should be fine. I loved the atmosphere at this place, very relaxing. Many places in walking distance. Try the prison massage close by.

The location is the big pro of this hostel, other than that it's way to overpriced. You get a really small dorm room, and my bed had bedbugs (Room 306, Bed 4). The bathrooms are great. There is no kitchen and no make-your-own-coffee-in-the-morning facilities. You have to buy the coffee from the hostel. The Wifi connection is good. Easy to reach from/to aiport (DMK) via Skytrain and Bus.

Dear guest, we are very sorry about the incident. We take this issue most seriously and we can’t accept this to happen at our facility. We had blocked the room that you had stayed, and done the very detail inspection to the room. In term of facilities we are so sorry that we don't have kitchen for you but you can ask our staff to heat up your food at anytime. Now we have set up free basic breakfast from 7-10 am and coffee station 24 hrs. Sorry for the inconvenience. Wasin, Hostel Manager

Had a great stay. Nice staff, spacious dorm room (6-bed female dorm). The only negative point was the Wifi. It was very slow. The Hostel provides you with a map. Please note that this map is already a few years old, so the information about the bus lines is not up to date (especially bus 52 and 185). Ask at the reception if you want to go to the Airport or Bus Station(s). The Hostel is easy to reach by bus from the Train Station.

Staff was great and helped me a lot. There are group dinners each evening which is nice. When i arrived, there was a dumpling party. The location is outside the city center, but easy to get to by bus during the day. The wifi connection was ok, good enough for facetime calls. Transfer to tiger leaping gorge can be aranged. Minus point: there's nothing around in terms of food, so you must eat in the hostel if you don't want to pay the taxi to the center. Busses only run until 8pm.

My dorm room was quite dirty (the floor and the bathroom). The bed however was great, much bigger than in other places. Staff is nice, facilities great (free use of washing machine). There's a quiet sundeck with excellent views on the top floor. I found the atmosphere a bit strange, there were quite a few older western people always drinking, smoking and playing ping pong throughout the day. I guess this depends on you if you like this or not, i just didn't meet people who fit to me when i went.

Great cheap food with lots of vegetarian options. Location is good, close to the park and walking street. Wifi is just ok, i assume it's because many people connect at the same time. The directions posted in the lobby for the bus/train stations are contradictory so best ask again. Buses in kunming don't have english stop names, so if you cannot understand chinese, try to count the stations (hostel staff can tell you at which stop number you have to get off/change buses).

Stayed in the single room for 400 Baht. Including A/C and dresser for your clothes. Wifi was working good, the kitchen facilities are great (there is a stove so you can actually cook) and you can use the washing machine for 30 Baht. Lots of showers/toilets. The location is OK, convenient if you want to take the train or MRT and there are bus lines very close by (for Silom, Siam, MBK, Siam Paragon and all the other shopping centers in that area).

Stayed in the single room, good value for money. The area is quiet, you can cycle to the city (which I loved to do - but beware of the dog in the dark) and the bikes are for free. The breakfast is good and the price ok. It was probably the hottest time when I stayed there and the single room only has a fan. Tip: If you want to cool down, go to the Sila Coffee Shop at the beginning of the street, it's air-conditioned, the iced cappuccino is great and I loved the interior design of the shop.

I had a great stay at Rooftop. The cake was amazing. The location is very good and it was nice to stay in a dorm room with single beds. The garden shower on the rooftop was nice. Wifi was working in the lodge downstairs and most of the time in the room (but not always). The owners are nice and considerate. Bike rental for 10 MYR a day.

Wifi in room worked well. Stayed on the 4-bed female dorm which was very nice. Comfy beds, huge lockers, reading light and power outlet next to your bed. Not a party hostel (when I stayed there), which I really appreciated. As mentioned before, you cannot control the temperature of the A/C. It was a tick too cold. Location is excellent, bus terminals and train station easy to reach by public transport.

Good value for money. The rooms are small, but they have lockers and great Wifi connection. The staff's English was a little limited, but I managed to get all my questions answered. They have free bikes you can rent. Hot showers available from late afternoons into the night. A little dirty in the bathrooms in the evening (lots of hair), but still OK. Laundry facilities available for 50 NT$ (bring your own washing powder). Bus stop of the bus to/from Kaohsiung is very close by. Great Location.

Great and helpful staff, female dorm was nice, facing away from the street so it's quiet. Shampoo and shower gel provided free inside the showers. WLAN was working well in the lobby and communal areas, not so well in the room. They have 2 bikes which you can take for free. Lockers are in the kitchen. They also have a pond with fish and crab. Beware of the crab, it does not always like to stay in the pond ;-)

Coffee Shack is paradise. Great food, awesome location, nice day trips. The shared bathrooms were clean, spacious and nicely decorated. I stayed in the Rond dorm, which was spacious enough. It's close to the bar so it can get a bit noisy. The Hall in the Wall Hike was great. The area around Coffee Bay feels a bit like The Shire from Lord of the Rings, just at the ocean.

The staff was nice and helpful, the room was clean, the design of the Hotel is colorful and modern. The breakfast was free for us and the selection was ok. There's a bus going to the Opera and the Eiffel Tower almost in front of the Hostel (line 42), which was very convenient. Additionally, the metro and Garde du Nord are really close. Although the area around the Gare du Norde didn't seem so secure and nice like other parts of Paris.
