Having stayed in hostels all over the world & expecting a very basic experience (given that I was paying less than £20 for a night in zone 2), I was absolutely amazed with the quality of Palmer's Lodge. I would have paid double. The atmosphere was friendly, staff were great, beds were comfortable & larger dorms nicely split up with room dividers etc to give the impression of smaller rooms and help with noise, & the curtains around each bed provided privacy. Good facilities a bonus. Top marks.

City Hostel Geneva

Geneva, Switzerland

The hostel itself was friendly, safe and clean: one of the most pleasant I have ever stayed in. The free train pass that came with the room was great, and meant that the hostel was excellent value for money. However, directions to the hostel from the airport weren't great: as a result we got a taxi there (which was extortionate), when we could have got the train which was quick and easy. With the free pass we did that on the way back to the airport in the morning: a very smooth service.
