A great hostel. A bit noisy, but expected bearing in minds its a cbd hostel and tends to attract a younger crowd. Great staff, very helpful. Good value for money, got a free drink at the attached bar, and a free coffee at the attached café. Great location, just opposite central station. Would definitely recommend

Without doubt one of the best hostels I have stayed in. Brilliant concept, lovely and clean, fantastic facilities. Staff very helpful and lovely (a girl from Barnsley, England) and went out of her way to help me. Cant really think of any downsides about it. Good area too, some bars and take aways, only 15 min walk to CBD. Would definitely recommend

Overall this is a nice hostel. I stayed here two years ago, and whilst it is still good, I couldn't help but feel it wasn't to the standard previously. The dorm rooms are nice, good beds, which look pretty new. Good cooking facilities, nice back yard to chill out in, and a computer room to use free of charge. Downsides, the staff on reception (an American guy and girl I think), not particularly helpful and had a bit of attitude. And the cleanliness of the showers was not great

Thanks for reviewing us, you mention you have stayed before thanks for staying again. Our bathrooms are getting older we are currently upgrading them, did you notice the nice reading lights beside every bed and the pouches to put you possessions in? we also give out free wifi which was not available a couple of years ago. All the best with the rest of your trip.

Nice hostel, central location, beautiful gardens to chill out in, can get a bit noisy though. Kitchen facilities were excellent. Mattreses on the beds were not very good, very thin. Other than that would recommend.

Not one of the better hostels in NZ. Good location and friendly staff. But the hostel was not clean at all, the showers were disgusting. And very noisy, not helped by the fact that the hostel backs onto some flats and they were banging music out

A very nice hostel, certainly when compared to others in Auckland CBD. Nice feel, chilled out, relatively quiet, clean as well. English girl on reception had a bit of attitude, not massively helpful. Overall a good hostel and would definitely recommend.

Thanks for your positive feedback - it was great to have you stay here and I hope you will be back in the near future - try a winter visit and enjoy the cosy and welcoming fire in the guest lounge, a cuddly hot water bottle and perhaps a sauna! Until next time - stay well.

Certainly one of the most noisiest hostels I have ever stayed in. Okay if you are under the age of 21!!!

Mark, you picked the busiest weekend of the summer, easter. We like all hostels were 100% full, the street was really busy and most noise came from the street, i made sure that the lodge was clear of noise from 10.30pm, and moved folk on, however i do not have influence on the bars or other hostels. We have on site security and off site security locking up at 11.30pm and opening at 6am, plus 3 walk throughs during the night. You were in a room with 3 foreign students who were 20, but i was through the hostel after 10.30 at least 3 to 4 times on each of those nights, any noise was not from here. Ithink your comments are 100% unfair.

My second time in this hostel and it is excellent value for money. Central location, comfortable dorms (front facing ones can be a bit noisy with traffic from main road) and great breakfast, all for 10 pound a night, a bargain compared with hostels in other capital cities. Highly recommended

Nice atmosphere, good location, decent breakfast, nice courtyard for having a drink, staff friendly enough. Downside - I stayed in a mixed four bed dorm where there were no lockers, so security not great, had to carry valuables around with me which I dont like doing when travelling. Overall though, good hostel

Absolutely brilliant. One of the best value hotels I have stayed in. Is away from the sights (about 45 min walk) but in a nice quiet area called Bani Park (which is within walking distance of the railway station). Very clean, hot water and TV too. Nice big beds. Friendly staff. Cannot believe it is not in the Lonely Planet
