YHA Cambridge

We've never stayed in a YHA before and it had much more of a hostelly feel than we expected, was super clean and had dangerously comfy beds! Gotta mention that our friend had a messed up shoulder and when she asked Wendy (the chef?) for some ice she wrapped it up in a clean tea towel and then came over later, asked her how she was and gave her A KISS ON THE FOREHEAD. If that ain't customer service I dunno what is. Cheers guys!

Stayed here with my boyfriend, we couldn't get up for breakfast because we were too comfy in bed but it was free, staff very nice. We had a personal key to our room and also one for the main door for after hours (£10 deposit, got back no hassle). No bathroom in room but loads all about the place so you're likely to get one pretty much next to your room. The building is cool, we had fun exploring, old fashioned as in carpet is atrocious, but hilarious. We basically had a fabulous time.

Flying Pig Beach Hostel

I'd click a higher button than excellent if there was one. I miss this place!! Between the three I think you are more likely to find 'travellers' here, rather than people just up for getting trashed in amsterdam for the weekend, not implying at all that it's not a great efffing time and we did also get trashed here! It's just less hectic and so LOVELY, nicest members of staff everrr and just so fun fun fun.

Flying Pig Uptown

If your in Amsterdam to party as well as get high then this place is good coz leidseplein is pretty awesome. find the waterhole!!! The hostel is right next to the park, very nice, everyone is always up for a smoke in the smoking room after a hectic night out. It's fun. If you're deciding between a hotel and a hostel, definately stay in a hostel, and if you're deciding between hostels, definately stay in The Flying Pig. If you're more there to just smoke then I'd advise the Downtown hostel.

Flying Pig Downtown

Fun fun fun, felt so at home! met loads of cool people. if its a comparison between this one and downtown i'd choose this one but only because i enjoy the coffeeshops in red light district more, not because the other one is less fun!! there are lockers in the rooms that you can pay maybe something like 1 euro for a padlock. we just left our stuff on the floor/bed and put valuables in the safe at reception which is free. bars open for ages, as is the smoking room. great.
