F this hostel. In anywhere in the world, if you picked up a wallet on the street and gave it to the police, you get 10% of what’s in the wallet. Otherwise nobody will turn in wallets anymore. But this hostel disagrees. If you gave them a wallet you picked up, they’ll get everything inside and not give you one penny. If you object they’ll call you a thief, as if you stole the wallet. The best way is keep the wallet to yourself and never tell them. If you’re honest you’ll be punished for honesty.
Hi, Yesterday you came to tell us you have found headphones inside your room that belong to some other guest who has checked-out. You told us that you will keep the headphones if no one wants them back. We of course proceeded to tell you, that this is not ok, as the headphones do not belong to you and we will keep them safe and let the real owner a chance to reach out, if they would like the headphones back. We have this same policy for all lost and found items and we regularly send items back to their owners and it makes them very happy. We have tried to explain to you, that we do not courage any guest to take and keep items that do not belong to them - and because of this, we can not let you keep the headphones as it would be considered stealing. We are not sure why you refer to a wallet and as we are not the police but a hostel, we are not responsible of any 10% reward for the customer who brings lost items to us. I am sure next time you can contact the local police for more information how to proceed. In this specific headphone case, we are happy to let you know that the real owner actually did reach out and they are coming to collect the headphones from the hostel next week. We take safety of our guests and their belongings very seriously and in this case it all had a happy ending and the headphones will be returned to the right owner. All the best for future travels. Best regards, Hostel Diana Park

It’s not a social hostel. A bunch of old people are staying and there’s no way of socializing with other travelers. You can only do laundry for Max 2hrs and you have to book those 2hrs in the morning to ensure you’re assigned a time slot in the evening. One young guy in the reception was rude and you have to almost beg him to ensure your laundry goes smoothly. If you’re in Stockholm, Uppsala is good for a day trip, it’s not worth staying here. Lonely, depressed, no socializing opportunities etc

The best hostel I’ve ever stayed Never have I stayed at a hostel where atmosphere so open, lounge area so nicely laid out (guests naturally face each other in a large area ), staffs so cohesive as a team, so social and yet manages to impose a discipline on the entire premises. This is not a party hostel. The quiet hour is from 23:00 (which needs more surveillance), so nothing crazy is on. But that’s exactly the beauty of it. People of all characters can chat, socialize w/o feeling intimidated.

The worst hostel. Even the staffs look abused and tired. A hostel is where you can sleep. Not this hostel. They have Karaoke nights where the music is so loud you can’t sleep even on the 3F/4F. It’s a way to generate income for the big corp, I understand, but they do at it the cost of guests. In other words, they don’t care about the wellbeing of anyone. All they care is generating money from food/ alcohol sales. The Karaoke ends at 1:30. If you don’t mind sleeping after that, you’re welcome.

Typical party hostel. They make money from the bar. Room was tiny. My room smelled so bad for two days. And the beds were super hard.

Typical party hostel where management is non existent and staffs are totally irresponsible. And they think it’s fine. Because nobody cares, as far as they provide this party atmosphere ever day (so they think).

There was an incident when I checked in, which was 80% the receptionist’s responsibility and 20% mine. But later the receptionist lied about it and I was subsequently banned from this hostel. I don’t mind being banned, but to have that level of liar on your team and can’t even see through it, and managers repetitively changing their minds and failing to see the grand picture, I don’t care how many stars this hostel is having right now, they’ll have nowhere to go but down from now.

Darn good hostel, except there’s no common area.
Hi, thank you for your feedback ! The common area is the last floor with the bar-restaurant, where you can go without consuming, but I agree sometimes it gets crowded and its hard to chill. Hope to see you again, Team Les Piaules

Terrible experience. A couple was making out at 2AM in a dorm room and was sharing one bed. I reported them to the receptionist, but the receptionist didn’t interfere. Reason? The couple both had a bed in the room and the receptionist cannot do anything with what people do in their room. They can openly have a sex and people would have to just sit and watch! But a B…..S excuse. It’s a typical party hostel where staff enjoy themselves and don’t care the wellbeing of the hostel.
Hello, thank you for sharing your experience. I apologize for the guests' behavior. It is obvious for us that, everyone has to respect each other, especially in dorms. I'm really sorry that the receptionnist did nothing, we should have told the guest not to do it. Our guests' satisfaction and wellbeing are the more important things for us and we do our best for our guests. We hope to see you again, for you to have a way better experience. Have a nice day, Lauren

This is absolutely an overrated hostel with dirty rooms, many (many) long term residents and no vibe. So many of the guests here are long term residents who work in the city. They make the rooms so dirty and no staff ever cleans the room as long as they’re staying. And staffs don’t know how to manage the hostel and they don’t care. Everyone is a temporary worker who has no idea how backpacking works, or what backpackers want.

They cut corners. Toilet paper are the worst in my life. I actually hurt my bottoms with their toilet paper. Cleaning staff clean the toilet around 8:30-9:30, which is the busiest time of the day. Breakfast is way too expensive. On the plus side, rooms are clean (although small and suffocating.)

The facilities are fine. But rooms are super dirty. You can’t imagine how they can be so dirty. Common areas are all cleaned up but everything in the rooms are tiny, condensed and dirty. Despite having many guests, there is no atmosphere and nobody is encouraged to talk to each other. There is no common theme that makes guests come together. Staffs are cold and only care about their job. They will not help you in a considerate way. Overall, just a corporate establishment that wants to make money

Everything feels shabby, everything feels cheap. From the ceiling to the floor, everything needs serious upgrade. I bet this hostel will be gone in a few years. Poor management favors long resident. Despite it’s a tiny hostel with no guests, the infrastructure makes everything in the room sound noisy. Rooms are tiny and suffocating. Owner tries to cheat by telling you they have different room types, while they have only one dorm room. No matter how much you pay you still end up in the same dorm.

Typical corporate soulless establishment. No staff really cares about the hostel, they’re only here for the money. Kitchen is very dirty, fridge is very stinky, but no staff cares, since it’s not their responsibility. There is a female receptionist who is very rude, who thinks she owns everything, and who doesn’t mind insulting anyone as long as it suits her moods. Latin American staff talks loudly all the time on the phone, all the time, and just never cares about people around him. Sh t hostel

Hi There, Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, we really appreciate it and can learn a lot from your experience. Cannot recommend here. No windows in the rooms, which makes the room dark all the time. One resident treated the room like his home, spreading his stuff all over the place, making noises all the time, even during Midnight. Apparently he had a long term contract with the hostel, so nobody could do anything about him. If you already put a long term resident like that in the room, then its impossible to let it function like a hostel.

The owner was extremely helpful, to everyone. She made delicious food for all of us, for free. That alone deserves praise. But the rooms and toilets were untidy, with people spreading their belongings everywhere. Dirty shower rooms, uncleaned common area, unwashed dishes in the kitchen, flies on the food. WiFi only worked in the common area, but the area was always filled w/ loud music. I did not want to leave a negative review, because of the kindness of owner. But now I'm forced to. I'm sorry

This was a super dirty hostel. They had a pool but the water in it was so dirty, I don't think they clean it often. It's a typical party hostel where you party with women wearing bikinis (in the pool), but it offers little else.

Wi-fi didn’t work for my entire 4 day stay. They said it hadn’t worked for nearly a month and will fix it at the start of next month. I had to walk 10 min to receive public free wifi. Very noisy at midnight, some alcoholic young men were staying long term, and they kept shouting at 3 am. Staff did nothing about it. It’s not really a hostel, more like a reformation facility for young people.

I'm sorry to give only 6.6, since I was pretty close to the owner. But they do need another emergency toilet. One restroom (toilet&shower combined) for 8 men and another for 8 women are not enough. If there's a small emergency toilet in the common area it would've been perfect. The location was great. The beds were clean, comfortable, and the room was tranquil & relaxing. I had very good rests. But the staff could have been much nicer. It didn't feel like staffs were trying to be helpful, at all

The facilities were great the location was great, the room was clean, the beds comfortable, the toilet in the room was very clean. So what's the dissatisfaction? The common area was too loud, it's a party hostel, and the staffs appeared to be racists. As common in this part of Asia if you're white you're very welcome in the common area and can do whatever you want, drink, smoke, anything. Otherwise the staffs weren't very friendly and they liked to fool around instead of helping other customers.

Facilities were the best yet the staff were the worst. It's a typical party hostel managed by young Westerners, not by Koreans. If you're expecting a quiet friendly hostel commonly seen in Asia, look for it somewhere else. The common area is EXTREMELY loud with men & women consuming alcohols while chatting, though they do quiet down after 22:30. The staff (man and woman) were rude to customers and had an entitled attitude you don't see in Asia, though they are friendly toward their own people.

Hard to find. Took me several turns to find it. The place is tiny. The bed was tiny. You can't talk in the dormitory. The staffs were cold, other guests were pretty cold too. There's absolutely no social scene here. The female staff looked like she even tried to avoid conversations. The people staying there are glued to their phone all day. There was a common room and there were 5 people that night but nobody had conversation with anyone. A lot of them are long-term residents. Sad place.

Location could improve. Other than that there's nothing to complain about. The staffs were two Indian males, and probably because of it, they are much more friendly than the Germans I saw in Berlin hostels. They gave me very nice direction for everything. The dorm was VERY cold in early September, though the sheets were thick enough to withstand it. One guy was drinking all the time in my room and nobody said a word about it. There's no social scene here, not possible to meet people & start talk

I write this based on a bad experience of mine & the owner knows it. Don't believe in the anonymous 10.0 reviews. They have written only 1 or 2 reviews. Believe instead in the people who have written 10+ reviews. There is no management in this small hostel. Instead most guests are forced into forming personal bonds with the owner. If you like party+drinking, then you'll have a good time if the owner will personally like you. If your personality doesn't match with him then you'll have hard time.
You arrived early, before our check in time (which is stated on the website) and were unhappy that you couldn't be checked in immediately. It was a stressful moment for us, as our cleaning staff was having a medical emergency and we were scrambling short-staffed to finish the cleaning (so we COULD check you in on time). Instead of dropping your bags off and taking a seat, relaxing and enjoying our facilities, or going out for the day (as most guests who arrive early do) you lingered around Reception, impatiently. When we tried to explain to you what was happening, you didn't show any understanding regarding the situation and berated us angrily about your customer rights. I am sorry if we were not so polite after that point, we were distressed over the welfare of our staff member and trying our best to keep operations going as normal, and you were angry, aggressive and rude. We are not a party hostel, but we do encourage a social atmosphere for our guests, and we are also a community (which you would’ve known if you had read our description on Hostelworld) and yes, our guests do tend to make friendly bonds with the staff and owner, by choice. We are proud of our reviews, which are all 100% genuinely written by guests. We are not for everyone, and if you had read our description, you may have known we were not for you. We are a place for people who are kind and compassionate, not selfish and aggressive, and who could not show an ounce of understanding during an emergency.

Overall German customer service is cold & rude, and this hostel is no exception. Having said that, staffs in this hostel are still better than other hostels I've stayed in. German staffs are usually arrogant & order guests around, but I did see 3 staffs (non-Germans) here who actually cared about guests. The facilities very clean, security was very good. Breakfast was pretty good, location could be better. But there's NO atmosphere here and it's IMPOSSIBLE to meet other guests. No social scene.

The breakfast was very good. But overall staffs don't really give a dime about you. It's a party hostel, and the staffs were college students who like to flirt with other guests & each other. Usually they are cold and don't really care about customer happiness. If you are young & like drinking, you'll enjoy it here. You might get laid with one of the staff members (seriously). But if you're into travelings more than parties, there's not much you can get out of here other than a night stay.

The staff doesn't care about you. No directions given, no conversations, no helpful at all. The old owner stared into his PC all day and looked like he was busy with his side job all the time, and whenever people asked anything he'd say he's busy and frown. Sometimes the atmosphere is so good you get to talk to many strangers, other times it degenerates into a party hostel and everyone's so loud they no longer care about other residents. If only the staff was nicer I'd have had a good memory.

The little red dot? The little dirty dot! So dirty and yet the staffs were only interested in fooling around with a few guests. Some guests start drinking at 10am and the staffs were just chatting with them all day long. It's the least hospitable hostel I saw in Singapore. Only one female worker actually cares about guests, all other guests won't give a damn whether you stay here or not.

I'm sorry, this is a hostel that doesn't deserve any reputation. The air conditioner in the rooms is so cold, and you can't change it. So I went to the front desk and asked. First time they told me 'No, there's no way it's so cold,we can't change it but it's always set at 25 degree!' What a lie! No way it's 25. The second time they said 'Oh, we CAN change the temperature, we'll go to your room in 30 minutes, wait for us to arrive.' But they never showed up. I eventually caught a cold after2days

Very wonderful hostel. In fact one of the few good hostels China has to offer. The number of toilets can be improved, however. Very close to the border of HK (can walk), and everyone working here is young entrepreneurs who speak very good English (two of them are the best local Chinese speakers I've ever met!), educated and have a good sense of international manners. My stay in this beautifully painted (just see the pics!) hostel is a memory hard to forget, not only the atmosphere but the staffs

Very nice hostel. Cannot be better. In fact the staff are so nice, and the atmosphere is absolutely free, everybody has a place to belong here. Also they are quiet, so if you want to sleep or stay on your own, you absolutely have your room to do so. If you want to hang out with other people, there are also room for that anytime. Excellent location and staff. The staff actually invite guests to dinner, and most of people at the night I stayed came out to the lounge and talked to each other (both Koreans and foreigners). The staff offered us free beer and all of us just surrounded one round table and had a very fun talk. That's why I liked here so much, because the owner seems to be not concerned about making money so much, but rather about entertaining guests and invite them to dinner and make sure they have good time

Internet takes money, baggage lockers take money, everything in this hostel seems to want to take extra charge from guests. Staff are very unhelpful, they want to have fun themselves while chatting with guests, instead of helping guests of need. Room is clean and quiet, but one step outside room is very noisy, since it's a party place with a bar inside. People her enjoy nightlife more than traveling.

The worst hostel ever in Asia. Staff never try to help customers, all they care about is money. Only 1 out of 5 staff can speak English, and he is not helping either. Whatever favor you ask, they say no, no, no. They can only calculate your bill correctly, and nothing else. Because of this, the atmosphere is so bad. Drunk people hanging out in the lounge, and anybody don't have places to talk to other people. The floor is dirty, the shower is dirty, the light is dim. There's nothing can be done
