A great hostel to visit in Chiangmai, the atmosphere is different from a typic hostel with more of a rustic feel and lots of places to chill, but that's what makes it special. Great staff and great location

YHA Bangkok Downtown

Bangkok, Thailand

In over 40 hostels visited around the world, some of the best staff I've stayed with; just very friendly and easy-going people who make you feel great after every conversation. The hostel is very secure, out of the touristy area to some extent, but close to attractions and metro (much better than Kansan). Overall, great stay.

Plum Flowers House

I cannot say enough about the staff here. They are among the most helpful I have seen in over 35 hostels around the world. The hostel has a family-like atmosphere as it is small and essentially in someone's apartment. The hostel is very close to the metro and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone planning on traveling to Guangzhou.

The hostel was a fantastic place to stay, with tons of rooms and a lot of day-trip options for those staying there. The atmosphere was pretty good, but with the massive hostels like this, sometimes its hard to establish strong relationships. The location was fantastic, very close to a metro, easy to find and in a safe area with lots of shops in the area. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hostel again to others.

Fantastic front-desk staff. The gentleman spoke strong English and was always willing to go above and beyond to help the clients. Character and location were good, very close to the Forbidden city and other attractions, located in an old bank, but the distance to the metro could be a bit closer. Overall, fantastic hostel, would stay again

Czech Inn

Prague, Czech Republic
90%

I only stayed for one night and the check in was at 3:00 pm, but for a reason. The staff keeps the place very clean and nice for everyone. They are also very helpful and are more than willing to suggest fun things to do in Prague or the easiest way to go about plans you may have. The restaurant is nice as well and there is a tram stop right outside the hostel.

Art Hole Hostel

There are only 2 showers for the entire hostel and the breakfast is a little lacking but everything else is very nice. There are travel guides available, good staff and free computers if you dont have a device to take advantage of the wi-fi.

The hostel is too big which means that there are usually large groups of highschool students with teachers there and it looses the hostel experience. There is every amenity you could want though (despite the internet not being free) and the breakfast is amazing

Amstel House Hostel

Berlin, Germany
73%

This hostel has every ammenity you could want from a hostel. The only downside comes from its size. The hostel is so large your room may be pretty far away from the actual entrance. The problem with hostels this big is they loose a bit of the "hostel experience", and there are often large groups of highschool students there on school trips who tend to be a little difficult to stay with. Not free internet but the breakfast is amazing!

Hostel GoodMo

Budapest, Hungary
90%

The staff was amazing. I ended up staying for a few extra nights and there was no problem with that at all. Not only are the staff knowledgeable about Budapest but they are just nice people to talk to in General. The room setup is a littler weird as you have to go through one room to get into the other but there is a lockable door so its all good. The security is unbelievable and for the price the location cant be beat.

Aga Hamam Hostel

Istanbul, Turkey
80%

The hostel itself was really nice, about as Turkish as you can get for a Hostel as it is a Turkish bath. You are able to use it for free after hours (or at least we were at the time), so the hostel is essentially free as it usually costs more than you're actually paying to stay there just to use the bath. The owner stays there all of the time and doesn't actually speak english which makes it a bit difficult, but he seemed to be pretty good with everything

Zio Apartments

Dubrovnik, Croatia
93%

I only had one night booked at Zio's amazing apartment and ended up staying for three. I had a beautiful room with a balcony, a full kitchen and a view over the Dubrovnik harbor, pretty much all you can ask for. There weren't many people staying there when I was there, but it wasn't peak season so that has nothing to do with Zio's apartment. When I needed something he was more than willing to go above and beyond to help me out. Definitely recommended for any visitors to Dubrovnik

Ciak Hostel

The two ladies working when I was there were unbelievable. I came back to rome a few weeks later and thy remembered me and still let me leave luggage there. The rooms are very nice as well and there is wifi. The breakfast is a little lacking but the location cant be beat, only a 10 minute walk to the coliseum and a metro station right down the street!

A really nice hostel, as proven by their awards. The character is really nice as it has a bit of a tropical feel to it and all the staff are really laid back and helpful. There are tons of choices for breakfast and a bunch of little day trips available from there. As a side bonus, there is also a laundry service for cheap so you can actually enjoy Nice instead of washing clothes!

Be Dream Hostel

Barcelona, Spain

The hostel is very nice and has all of the ammenities you could want. If you are traveling alone it can be difficult to meet people because the hostel is so large it looses a bit of the hostel experience. The main con is the location as the hostel is a pretty significant metro ride away from anything, so if you plan on going out you're going to have an interesting time getting home.

Alberguinn Youth Hostel

Barcelona, Spain

The staff here was unbelievable. They actively went out and tried to suggest things to do and easy ways to go about plans you already may have. The breakfast is good as far as hostel breakfasts go and the hostel itself is clean and nice. The washrooms tend to get a little bit dirty near the end of the day because of the amount of people sharing it but it is cleaned every day.

Very good hostel, there were not many people there while I was so the hostel did not have many events but the location is unbelievable, literally right on the beach and a short walk to las ramblas.

YHA London Earls Court

This is a very nice hostel in a very nice area. The staff is good and there is breakfast. The hostel is definitely above average and one of the better ones for the price you'll find in London (I've stayed at 5 different hostels in London now and this is definitely up near the top)

The hostel has a pub right below it and when I was there all of the travelers received a complimentary pint for booking! The hostel is a great place to meet other travelers through the pub and the breakfast is free and pretty reasonable as far as hostels go. Its a bit of a walk away from the attractions, but close to most major forms of transportation

There was a theft in the room during the night, but the hostel staff responded well and the Police were called to actually deal with the culprit. The wi-fi is not free which is a bit of a nuisance, but the breakfast and hostel itself is a very nice place to stay. The location was very good, close to hyde park and easy to get to by tube. The neighborhood is safe and comfortable to walk around during the evenings. Ultimately, I would recommend this hostel to others.

Sheilas Cork Hostel

There are extra charges for more or less everything (breakfast, bag storage etc...) but that isn't uncommon and in general the hostel is very nice and the price is reasonable. The ladies toilets would not flush and the washrooms weren't as clean as they could have been, but the staff was friendly and willing to help or provide travel advice when needed. Ultimately, I would recommend this hostel to travelers for sure, as the location and staff make it worthwhile.

Owner Comment (Hide)
Hi. Thank you for the overall positive reccomendation! Just a couple of responses to your review: We do charge for breakfast as we prefer to offer an "all you can eat" style of breakfast for a small fee rather than the standard scramble for toast and coffee that is the "Free Breakfast" in some other hostels. The charge of 1€ for the lockers is quite reasonable - we used to provide a free, non-secure, luggage room but we installed these lockers after many negative comments aboyt security. I'm sorry the bathrooms weren't as clean as they could have been. It was a side-effect of the St. Patrick's day celebrations. We did our utmost to keep them in a good condition but it was really hard to cope with the volume of revellers in the hostel over the festival period. We will endeavour to do better in future. Thans again for the review and the comment. Best Regards, Paddy Hodnett (Manager) - paddy@sheilashostel.ie

I stayed for about a week and met so many unbelievable people! The hostel had a surfboard and longboard to use. The location is up a hill a bit, but its good cardio and the views are better that way.
