Tarragona Hostel

Staff were super friendly, the room was clean (though a little hot with no A/C, only fans) and the back courtyard was great for an afternoon drink. This hostel was very laid back and homely - a great find!

Hostel was very clean and in an excellent position in the old town, right next to the central market. The staff were helpful and the room was nice and quiet after 12, plus the air conditioning was a massive winner.

One of the nicest hostels I've stayed in. Lovely and clean, with great security lockers and comfortable bedding. The free hostel breakfast was by far the best I've ever had - muesli, yogurt, cereal, fruit, toast, tea and coffee was delicious. This place is also in a great position in the centre of Madrid - A+

Kaixo Backpackers Hostel

San Sebastian, Spain

This hostel was in a great location and the rooms were clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable too. However, we stayed during the busiest week of the year and our window was broken, meaning we slept terribly as the street party kept us up all night. Besides that, the hostel was quiet and relaxed.

Hostel was really dirty all the time because people were all really drunk all the time. But the staff were friendly and its in a great location. If you want to party while in Lagos, this is the place. €5 all you can drink was good value too.

Siam Hotel

Phuket Patong Beach, Thailand

This hotel is lovely and clean, with large spacious rooms that are made up daily, and the king size beds are a massive plus! The staff are very friendly and accommodating. This hotel is about a 3 minute walk to Bangla Road, and less than a minute to great street food markets. If you want a simple, clean and quiet hotel away from the craziness of Bangla but still close to everything, this is the place.

Patong Backpacker Hostel

Phuket Patong Beach, Thailand

This hostel is in an amazing location; super close to the beach, fresh food markets, convenience stores and Bangla Road night life. While the hostel itself is quite old and the rooms are very basic, the staff are constantly cleaning and keeping all the facilities spotless. Mama and her staff were always helpful and genuinely care about the guests, which makes this place even better! If you're looking for basic, cheap accommodation among like-minded travellers in Patong, you can't go wrong here!

FIN Hostel Phuket Kata Beach

Lovely, clean and modern hostel with great facilities and super close to the beach. I definitely recommend staying here if you are on a budget; the common room is great, there is a small kitchen if you don't want to buy food and the rooms are clean and with ample storage. I wish there were more hostels like this one!

An institution and a must-visit if in Ios. Wonderful staff at the bar and kiosk, however the system and staff at the reception were absolutely terrible.

Red Dwarf Guesthouse

Dubrovnik, Croatia
80%

Extremely friendly owner who took the time to show us all we needed to know about Dubrovnik when we arrived. Though this hostel is a little far from the Old Town, it is a pleasant walk in to town, close to nice eateries and has a breathtaking view of the harbour. It is very quiet if you're looking for somewhere to relax.

Grand hostel LerO

Overpriced, out of the way and unclean. Although staff were friendly and nice, we were not shown any of the hostels facilities and to get to our (extremely cramped) room we had to walk through another room.

Hostel Elena

This hostel is in a great position, right in the heart of the old town. Very close to popular restaurants and bars. The staff were very friendly and organised taxis for us to the bus station, which was great. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms clean. Nice lounge room and kitchenette on the top floor too.

The Wild Fig Hostel

Zadar, Croatia

Wonderful, clean and vibrant hostel with a great atmosphere. Ample and clean facilities like a kitchen, bar and small snack bar are welcome additions. Very attentive and friendly staff, who helped organise our day trip to Plitvice Lakes easily and quickly. The only downside is if you want to be close to the old town it is a fair distance walking, however the hostel is located near the bus station and very close to a supermarket and beautiful beaches which is a plus!!!

Residenza Santa Croce

This hostel was located a LONG way away from the reception marked on the map so the walk to my room was very unpleasant in the heat. However, the room itself was in a better location than the re solution near major attractions, a supermarket and good eateries. However the lack of wifi and long walk was a massive pain.

Youth Meeting Home

Florence, Italy

This hostel was in the perfect location in the centre of Florence, close to major attractions, markets and delicious eateries. The hostel itself was not very pleasant and quite loud for nightclubs below, however it's worth staying there for the location alone as I was hardly in the room.

Ideal central location near Termini station, and staff were very helpful giving tips on where to go. The facilities were clean, and the rooms quiet. Fast wifi access and close to eateries was helpful in the morning, as the breakfast available at the hostel wasn't great.
