We stayed for one night on our final night in Turkey before flying back to London, at the end of a 2 week trip. The hostel staff were friendly, and the location is good, right near the Galata Bridge and tower. We stayed in a standard double with shared bathroom which was nice - nothing amazing but good size with very effective air con. Breakfast is served on the roof terrace, which is nice but doesn't have a particularly great view of anything. Nice breakfast though - the usual Turkish stuff.
Loved this hostel - great location in Pamukkale, very near to the entrance of the site, with a swimming pool, simple but nice rooms and a barbecue in the evening. Staff friendly and helpful. Really nice place. Also free tea and coffee available all the time.
Definitely a good choice in Selcuk - moments away from the bus station and very central. The staff were ok - some friendly and some less so - the guy who checked us in didn't mention the wifi, roof terrace, nearby swimming pool etc - we had to ask/find out for ourselves. But the room was great - we had one on the ground floor, double with en suite bathroom which was really nice. Good base for Selcuk and Ephesus. Breakfast in the restaurant was good too.
The Istanbul Pension is the perfect place to stay in Ayvalik, which is itself a brilliant place to visit in Turkey. A really cute seaside town with barely any non-Turkish tourists, with lovely cobbled back streets, cafes and waterfront. We stayed in one of the garden rooms at the Pension, which was small but nice with an en suite bathroom (wet room). The breakfast in the garden was lovely, as was the owner, who was also very helpful. Very nice place to stay - highly recommend.
