Explora Hostels

Bogota, Colombia

Arrived and was told had no booking, was then placed in a 6 bed dorm after booking 4 bed - price was reviewed and i only paid for 6 bed dorm. Staff unhelpful and rude at times, owner was very nice and worked out all problems with me. Nothing to do at the hostel other than communal kitchen which wasnt to big. Place is very clean, great to see, best showers in South America for sure! needs a filter on the heads tho, it hurts alot coming out as a stream, and 2 minutes of hot water isnt enough

Enjoy Hostels

Lima, Peru

No keys for the dorm doors, they stay unlocked all the time, lockers are so easy to break into. Nothing to do here during the day or night, boring. cgood that it is close to shops and markets and a good few restuants, and within 10mins from beach and kennedy park

Jollyboys Backpackers

Livingstone, Zambia

Where to start. Room was Tiny! the ammount of luggage the other 3 people in my room had took up literally the whole floor space, and stuff all over my bed when i got there, one powerpoint, taken up by the worlds smallest fan, which had no affect, upgraded to a private room, which would of been the only one that didnt have aircon. For the price you pay for that place, the rooms should at least have decent cooling to them. Had to pay for the wifi. staff were rude.

Dubrovnik Backpackers Club

Dubrovnik, Croatia

Hostel was slightly far from old city ( even tho only 20mins In a bus it was still at the other end of Dubrovnik. Bus or cab. Too far to walk home. Staff were ok. Very pushy didn't like to take no for an answer. The wifi never worked and the kitchen was small and not the easiest thing to work in when there are like 20 other people staying. I personally probably wouldn't stay here again. But it's nice for a night or two. Bit expensive for what you get I think

Paddy's Palace Dublin

Dublin, Ireland

Was very old, shower and bathroom were not the cleanest, i had alot of trouble getting back into my room one night as the staff member had trouble finding my name on the list - if you just gave keys it would be a better system. My card got cancelled everyday at 10am and had to reactivate it, one day i left the room in my PJ and couldnt get back in, had to walk down the street in my underwear and into the reception area two doors down just to get my card reactivated (first time - didnt know)

Fortune Classic Hotel Apartments

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Obviously not a Hostel, its an apartment complex with mainly local business men, parties all night. Massive apartment for the money paid though, very clean, great services, not happy with the cost of the internet charged at 40dirhams per day!

Portree Hostel - Waterford City

Waterford, Ireland

Hostel was a bit out of the centre of town, Not a big town so can walk it, Very close to the bus and train station which was a huge bonus, and close enough to a big aldi. Couldnt cook unless microwave meal or stove top meal, oven was old and didnt work. Wifi didnt work the whole time i was there, kept saying couldnt connect, as per the same as other guests, The staff were friendly and helpfull for direction.

Te Anau Lakefront Backpackers

Te Anau, New Zealand

Hostel has a very large kitchen, cool TV room with DVD's and a large flatscreen. The dorm i was in has its own living section seperate to the sleeping part which is an added bonus, with a small kitchen and dining table in this room aswell. Views over the lake and Mountains. fantastic! if anyone has questions :D

Canterbury House Christchurch

Christchurch, New Zealand

Very nice hostel. Homestyle accommodation. Close to food drinks Ect. Bus stop right out the front going both directions. Owner Alan very friendly, will help wherever he can. Rooms had individual bed lights which was a huge plus for me. Would stay here again. Would find it hard to try a new hostel.

I found the lady at check-in very nice, the man on check out not so much, he was quite rude and didnt really care for his job. The price per hostel room is outrageous, you can stay for half price in a place twice a good in downtown New York City! Free Wifi would be only bonus, common room and kitchen were very small. Beds were comfortable and it was a clean hostel. Would probably not stay again, one of the worst on my travels

Hostel Ka'beh Cancun

DC Lofty - Convention Center

Washington DC, USA

Upon my arrival the gentleman who welcomed me was very nice, made me feel very welcome and explained everything to me so i understood it and made sure i was happy with everything before just sending me off and taking my money... The rooms were nice, beds were comfy, wasnt any warm water in the shower though, so i couldnt shower on the one night i was there, and there wasnt enough heating in the room, but other than that, place was fantastic :D

The New York Loft Hostel

New York, USA

Wow..... just wow.... Place was Vibrant, very friendly staff, great other room mates, HUGE rooms, so warm u could practically walk around nude and not be cold, while it was -10celcius outside! location was great, 2minutes walk from subway station direct to Manhattan. What more to say, i would deffinately go there again, price was fantastic aswell

Hostel Ka'beh Cancun

Cancun, Mexico

When we arrived we were greated fantastically by the manager, very laid back environment, very clean and organised.... Open outdoor area was a bonus, only down side was the blow up mattresses on the beds, if you were on the top bunk if you sat up you would hit your head, no matter how short you were. Kitchen was clean, breakfast is thrown in usually by the owner, which was fantastic, they will help you with anything you need help with! Great other people staying there to, fun to "live" with
