The Riverhouse Backpackers, Cardiff, Wales
9.4
6th Mar 2014

The Riverhouse is a very nice, clean and sweet hostel in a beautiful building, about 5 minutes on foot from the city centre. The staff was very friendly and I had no problems with anything at all. In addition to standard hostel services, there's a respectably big and tasty breakfast buffet and a great living room with sofas and a collection of books and DVDs to use. There are many many bathrooms so you do not have to wait for ages during the morning rush. Overall a great place to spend a night.

The Fort Boutique Hostel, York, England
8.9
14th Feb 2014

This hostel is located in the absolute centre of York, 1 minute from the Minster, you can't do any better. The bathrooms are astonishingly modern, clean and comfortable - an absolute delight. The bed was so short that I could not stretch entirely (and I am only 6'1" / 185cm tall), I didn't like that at all. Still a nice hostel with very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful rooms, nice common room, rather small number of beds with spacy common room, overall very enjoyable.

Thanks for the review, not sure which bunk you had but they are 6'7'' long so you should have been able to stretch out. Pleased you enjoyed your stay and I wish you all the best on your travels.

Ostello Dante, Ravenna, Italy
9.0
28th Mar 2011

Youth Hostel Dante is located in a rather peripheral area of Ravenna, a walk of about 20 minutes from the city centre. The building is not of the beautiful kind on the outside, but close to a big city park. On the inside, the "Dante" was the most beautiful hostel I've seen in Italy, very comfy, beautifully painted, with a lot of work done to make it a nice place-to-be. Staff is very friendly and helpful, there are no "hidden fees". Closing times from 10.30-14.30, breakfast better than usual.

The staff is OK, but not super friendly. The hostel is located very close to the city center and the train station, so that is good. The common rooms were very cold because the heating was always off and they are very poorly accessorized - empty except for chairs and tables. The room was kind of dirty, the bathroom showed signs of mildew (german Schimmel).
