Have stayed in this hostel a couple of times before, mostly well maintained ever since. Overall it's value for what you pay (but they seem to have competition popping up in this nice neighborhood), so i hope they can strive to make it better in future.

Horrible mattresses (old, saggy, hard), breakfast is no more included in the price, common area has been moved downstairs with the same old cusions and sofas. I think the place needs a re-investment to liven up the hostel and its facilities, otherwise this place is not worth coming back to, even though it has a decent location (2-3 minutes from the beach). Spend your money elsewhere and save them the trouble.

Great place, friendly staff, pretty clean and tidy for a hostel! Booked for one night, ended up staying for 4 more. Kitchen is NOT accessible to guests, but you can order tasty home made meals for a reasonable price. Beach is 6-8 minute walk, super supermarket is nearby.

Hostel is nice from inside (comfy beds, big washrooms, washing machine/drier, high speed internet, well designed interiors), but the location leaves much to be desired. It is in the middle of commercial cum residential area. There is a bit of a traffic noise, and there is absolutely no greenery in the neighbourhood. Apart from that, comfy hostel. The chef made some nice thali and dinner in front of me, since the kitchen is open and you can see him prepare your food. Dinner was good.

Nice hostel, great location, staff was friendly, common room was comfy and clean. Cons: bedsheets, pillow covers were not clean/spotless, had to ask to get them changed. soap dispenser was not filled, again had to ask them to fill it. Basically a nice place that asks for a better day to day management.

They changed my dorm from 8 bed to 6 bed dorm in the name of upgrade! (later I found out that the 6 bed dorm washroom is mosquito infested and is partially open at the roof!), and refused to change me back to 8 bed dorm, because they wanted to save the AC cost! (next day, they did open the 8 bed dorm and things were OK then) Nice location, pretty competitive price for the 8 bed dorm. Sadiq strangely charged the final bill on his bank account for scooter etc. and did NOT give any receipt?

Cons: - Someone from hostel staff sleeping in our dorm was kinda weird - Watch out if you get upper bunk beds as they are very close to the room ceiling. I ended up hitting my head twice! - Hotels/house(around the hostel) almost continuously burn trash and smoke smell is always in the air. Pros: - Decent breakfast, nice location. - Staff was helpful and friendly.

Nice hostel, good location, good atmosphere. Kritika and Raashi do an amazing job of hosting travelers. TT and pool table are great place to meet people. downside were a bit pricey dorm beds and broken washrooms.

The hostel is modern and clean, with a nice kitchen, comfy beds, hot showers and everything else you would expect from a good hostel, except the price for a dorm bed and the atmosphere in the hostel (which i think are related). They must give a thought on how hostels in Thailand/Vietnam/etc, with even better facilities (swimming pools etc), are able to offer dorm beds for a lower price thana hostel in India! If the price is high, real travelers won’t come and you won’t get a good atmosphere that everyone goes to a hostel for!

Nice location, helpful staff, and the place has some good atmosphere with real travelers. Made some friends on TT table, and now i think every hostel should have one. It is such a nice addition for meeting new people and having a good match!

Hostel's location might be nice (secluded quiet place surrounded by loads of greenery) or not (nearest shop is ~2 km walk) depending on your view, but it's the friendly group of staff and volunteers, great hostel atmosphere, and the special touch of pocket friendly vegan dinners every evening that can make one stay longer than planned here. Hot water in upper dorm was a problem, even though they tried to fix it. I hope they invest back in facilities and make this place even better with time!

Clean, spacious dorm with good WiFi, the staff was really courteous and helpful, great location in Ernakulam town (~100m from Lissie metro station and local bus stop) and a really good healthy free breakfast. It was value for money for sure! It's a 3-star hotel with dorm beds, so expect no hostel atmosphere, BUT if you wanna stay in town, it's a nice place to stay. Also, dorm beds should be bigger and the prices should be a little lower since it's not in Fort Cochin to attract travelers!

Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, spacious dorms, high quality free breakfast in a nice sitting area, water filter, terrace for doing yoga, nice comfy place for hanging out upstairs... Overall a well thought out, well designed hostel. Downside: next to busy T-junction, sofas covers were dirty in the common area upstairs (but otherwise the hostel was clean and well maintained), Watchman could be trained to be more friendly to people.
Hey, Thank you for taking the time out to write a review! We'll get to the cushions asap and also brush up our guard's customer service skills. Hope to see you sometime soon:)

PROS: Newly built, really good showers and big clean bathrooms, good and comfy beds, water filter was working but no kitchen use was allowed, and has a good location (if you want to stay near 'ghats'), Great view from the terrace! CONS: Almost empty common room, no hostel atmosphere, far more like a hotel with few dorm rooms than a hostel with some private rooms, no wifi on 2nd floor, that too sometime was working and sometimes NOT.

Helpful and kind staff, kitchen use allowed for making small meals, comfy beds and showers, AC in common room 24 hours (really needed for Delhi's hot summers). Good location.

Washrooms are old and dirty, and need renovation. Breakfast is included, but is below average (some cheap 'fat spread' instead of butter!). Linen on bed was dirty. I had to cancel my stay and move to other hostel, and though I could not get any refund, I was still happy! Also long term dwellers instead of travelers/backpackers changes the atmosphere of the hostel completely.

Pros: good internet speeds, nice garden, good breakfast, friendly staff. Cons: small dorms, bed sheets did not look as if they were changed, staff was playing cards and were loud themselves at 1am in the night!

Pros: Away from the Kasol's mess and chaos, in a quiet green place (small walk uphill), comfy beds. Cons: No WiFi in the dorms, kitchen not allowed for personal use. They do serve food, but close for some strange reason at lunch time (12-6 PM)!

One of the most ultra modern well built hostels I've come across ever. Beds, dorm rooms, bathrooms, AC, common room, etc. were all comfy and fine. There is not much to complain about, except kitchen use is NOT allowed. If they can keep their dorm prices down, other hostels might have to up their game or perish!

Pros: good beds, big spacious dorms, no AC shutdown during day, activities (tours/day treks) with decent prices. Cons: located next to a really busy road, inside a concrete jungle, no kitchen use allowed.

Most of the things you expect from a hostel (kitchen, common area, nice terrace, comfortable beds, etc.) are present and functional. Staff is helpful. However things can be improved on the maintenance side (putting clean sheets/covers on the common room mattresses/pillows and changing them regularly, getting a working water purifier, timely maintenance of dorm's ACs). And yes, I found a bit late, but do not use the laundry service, you will get your dirty clothes back after ironing.

I liked they have electronic access locks on dorm doors, 8 bed dorm below 400 inr, great location (close to metro and New Delhi Railway station) if you want to stay in Paharganj area, and that staff gave me early check in too. Dorm beds are nice and comfy. . . Areas to improve: Kitchen (hardly maintained!), washrooms, and AC in common area. (one AC is not enough for their common space). Still a value for money for paharganj area!

Good location, comfy and warm but pricey beds (I think a dorm bed should never exceed 400-450 INR, because otherwise a room at a home-stay looks more interesting), decent common room, good staff. Overall, not a bad choice for a dorm bed!

Pros: Great location (near to metro station, nice park, and Nehru place market), and Value for money (price under 350 rs for 8 bed dorm) Cons: shower in dorm was broken, washroom looks old and boring, AC is switched off during day (when you need it the most). 2 yrs ago I would have rated it 9, but the hostel standards in india/delhi are rising quickly, so other hostels also need to up their game!

Nice hostel with good location, helpful staff, decently equipped kitchen, a wonderful terrace/common room and a lovely dog! The hostel lacks on security though (would be great to have access locks on the doors so that not everyone can enter and leave the dorm rooms).

Great hostel with nice calm and social atmosphere. Stanley and Corey were amazingly helpful. Good location and WiFi. Though some details could be fixed for future travellers: mattresses looked saggy and old, and few chairs on the terrace might be a good idea! Also the shower is either too hot (when pressure pump is ON) or cold (without the pump). But the hostel's advantages surely outweigh the minor problems!

fast WiFi, great location in Bangalore with great bus/metro connectivity, nice staff, comfy beds. Could be improved: Kitchen is under equipped with pans and the cycles for rent were not in top condition. Otherwise a nice hostel!

Nice hostel, fast internet, nice terrace. But the 4 bed dorm in front of the washroom is just too tiny when even 3 travellers with their backpacks are present. It should be a 2 bed dorm!

Decent place, but lacks the atmosphere and vibe of an amazing hostel. Beds in dorm were a bit pricey for what they offer at 600 rs per night. As a result dorms were more or less empty.

The hostel is much better than it looks on Hostelworld pictures. I was pleasantly surprised when I reached there. Initially booked it because it was cheaper, but then extended my stay just because of great atmosphere! Kitchen for guest is not well maintained though. And yes, it is definitely a party hostel so expect music playing well into the night!

Nice new hostel with exceptionally helpful staff and stunning views! Good location between the city and beach life! Thought it was "pricey" for a dorm bed for a place like gokarna, but they don't really have any good competition yet! Overall, a nice place to meet travellers and make new friends.
Yay! Makes us very happy to know that you loved your stay with us. As you know, Gokarna is a little town in Karnataka where it is very uncommon to find a hostel. In order to be able to serve you better and provide the best of everything, we keep our prices this way. Also, we keep shuffling our prices according to the season. You will always find a more reasonable price in the off season. :) Thank you for your love though! Hope we get to host you again. :)

Not really a hostel, but its a mix between hostel and hotel and ashram. I got a room instead of dorm for the price of a dorm! and they allowed me to check in at 5 AM in the morning for which I am thankful! Other than that, no "proper" common room where you can chill and relax, but you still can meet other travellers downstairs at the breakfast/tv place. And yes the home-made south-Indian authentic breakfast was good! and a nice terrace too. In short, recommended for the "value for the money".

Great hostel with nice view of the valley, decent WIFI, helpful staff, kitchen for making simple meals, nice common area to meet other travellers! Only thing not really competitive is the expensive meals (though Ooty is just a 5 rs bus ride away!)

A very nice hostel with a good staff, great views around, and thankfully out of Ooty's city mess and pollution but still easy 10 min 5 Rs bus ride away from it. Basically I can't complain about the hostel at all. I would definitely go back if I visit Ooty again.

Basically not really a hostel. It's a hotel with few room converted to dorms. Location wise it's right in the city center, but Indian cities in general are a mess, so by being in central location works against it. No green views, right next to a main road. But the staff was great, they converted my dorm booking to a double bed room since the dorm was apparently empty! A room for 299 was a bargain!

Great location, nice views from the terrace on the top, friendly staff, but the room I originally booked was not amazing at all: on the ground floor, no windows, and was a bit shabby, after I refuse to check in that room, the owner showed me a more expensive room. I don't know if it was strategy to sell expensive rooms first or to pay more for a room.

High speed internet, nice/comfortable common areas. However, they changed my booking from a 8 dorm to a 4 dorm without asking me (next day someone told me that they thought I am some guide leading a group that checked in along with me!!) then the check-in was 4 hours late, and that too in a dorm which was flooded because of a overflowing drainage! Only when I complained, I was given a room till the dorm's drainage was fixed. Beyond this discomfort, the stay was alright.

I did have a nightmarish experience when I found mites in my bed biting me in the middle of night. But the hostel staff (especially Nitin) was very professional and diligent in immediately arranging a separate room in a different hotel at 4 AM! So I did not get a full hostel experience during my stay, but definitely got good night sleep from that moment onward. And surprisingly, he was courteous enough not to charge me for any of the nights! Basically he turned a -ve experience into a +ve one!

Staff was really helpful (I asked for a dorm change and they changed it immediately!). Avg score on atmosphere since it is not really a "hostel" (only two rooms are dorms, the rest of it is basically a hotel).

More than just an excellent value for money, this place just scores high on all fronts. - room 101 was very NOISY - more irritating was the hostel staff indifferent attitude to traveler's concern for noise. Despite complaining they kept discussing loudly outside. - far from spotless, room 101 was not well kept. There are spots on the wall, paint was falling from walls. - Toilet flush was almost useless. - their restaurant is pricey for the service it offers - bed and linen were OK.. - has a free wifi which is VERY handy. - good location, taj is walking distance away.

I was given a room with a malfunctioning AC (without any temperature control) and when I complained to the staff they shifted me to a room where the AC worked but the shower didn't! :-( The staff was not careful about basic things like these. Their approach seems like "may be the guest will be OK with screw ups". Though the owner seems interested in the welfare of his customers, he is usually too busy to be present at the hotel and teach his staff not to make mistakes like these ones.
Dear Guest, Thanks for your review and feedback. We have a team who looks after maintenance issues and sometimes things slip from under the hand. In your case this is exactly what happened. We take full ownership of this and want to assure you that we will be more careful in future. The reason you don't see me around is that I am mostly working behind the scenes. I am available on our email address and the moment any guest reports any thing that is needs attention, I quickly jump into action and sort things out. For quickly fixing things, a small email to me based on the e-mail address on booking cofnirmation will do the job quickly. Thanks and all the best and hope to see you soon sometimes.
