Nice hostel with a small swimming pool. We had a double room with private bathroom, which was very nice, but also a bit expensive compared with other hostels in Nicaragua. The airconditioning works only from 9p.m. to 9a.m. and only the staff can turn it on or off or change temperature. Our airport transfer worked without any problems (costs $20 for two persons). The kitchen was good equiped, you get filtered drinking water for free, only negative point here were some ants.
We really liked our stay at Latina Hostel. The staff and outdoor area are really nice and the dishes aren't a century old like in some other hostels (although there could be more pots). The main thing we didn't like was the lack of furniture in our room. There was nothing but a bed. A cupboard or table or just anything where you can put your stuff would be nice.
Nice hostel in a good location, nice and clean rooms. Only the kitchen could be a bit better and cleaner.
A nice hostel in a nice location. Only the kitchen isn't the best...
Mochilas is a nice hostel in a great location. Only the dishes could be newer and cleaner and access to more than one shared bathroom would be nice.
It's a nice and cheap hostel in a very good location. Staff is friendly and competent.
We really liked our stay at hotel dorothy. The rooms, the kitchen, the shower are very nice and clean. The staff was helpful. There were not many guests so it was quite quite. Definitely worth the money!
We were disappointed about that hostel. No hot water although they advertise it, no soap in the bathroom, only one cookingplate for everybody, breakfast is not included if you stay in a dorm (you can buy it extra), only an insecure internet connection and above all not the cleanest place...
You should definitely pay in US-Dollar because the exchange course is really bad (1:550). Our room had no window, there is no soap in the bathroom and you don't get a key for the front door, so you have to ask the staff every time to let you in and out (and if somebody comes home in the middle of the night, he/she will wake everybody up). Apart from that the hostel is a nice and cheap place. :)
Breakfast is really good (you can chose between 3 options and coffee, tea or chocolate). The rooms are very clean, only the sheets had some spots.
Nice hostel with good breakfast and clean bathrooms. Definitely worth the money.
Rooms are functional (ours without a window), the shower is seperated from toilets and the room is "under water", no glove box, not very clean. The pool is very small, but nevertheless the outside area is very nice.

It's a nice hostel in a nice location. Unfortunately the owner only speaks Spanish and you don't get much information what to do in San Juan.
